I'm also using Windows Vista Home Premium. I dont think the version of windows is the issue. It has to be your graphics card, maybe the processor of your computer. The Z line is a very detailed route. Alot of the routes are. Couple of questions....

Does this happen with only this route or other high graphic routes like the Q or N?

What graphics card does your computer have?

Are you using a desktop or laptop? (on my current laptop, top of the line, I have no issues but when I use my HP laptop with a 1.2ghz processor & NVIDIA graphics, it tends to lag.)

Hopefully, some of the admins or other members can add to this and help out.

Well da only route I have is da Z and hoping to install the (J) too. I do not have the N nor Q. And yes, the lagging does happen with this route.

My graphics card that I have is Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)

Nd I have a Samsung desktop SyncMaster 740N.

Sir Jarell
I do have better good luck of FPS in the openBVE when I do configuration this

openBVE\Settings\Options.Cfg

[display]
vsync = false
loadInAdvance = true

[quality]
interpolation = anisotropicFiltering
anisotropicFilteringLevel = 8
anisotropicFilteringMaximum = 16
antiAliasingLevel = 2
transparencyMode = 1
viewingDistance = 900
motionBlur = low

I greatly hope this is of usefulness for you.
Good day and night for you.
HK

Your integrated graphics chip can't handle the Z. Nothing you can do other than upgrade

I tried that but I still lags IDK how. But thanks to you anyway. I'll just have to try a different process. ;) ;) And thanks WestEndMan and YankeesPwnMets. Doesn't Openbve 1.4.2 or 1.4.3. works on Vista?

Any Intel integrated graphics prior to the HD series found in the Core i3, i5, or i7 line of processors are known to handle openBVE poorly since these were budget graphics solutions for basic tasks and basic multimedia.

If you have a desktop, consider investing in a decent graphics card (PCI-express)
