And with that announcement, every non-fictional route is either under development or has been released. Awesome. ;D Can't wait.

Wow awesome! Will there be a local via Whitehall and express version(via bridge) like the original Astoria bound (N) since the (R) is uptown also?

the bridge will be made 1st maybe the lowermanhattan will be done soon

I'll be looking forward to this.  :)
And please do take your time on this route. I really don't mind it being released a year later or two.  ;)

A note: The third rails for the express tracks run alongside with the third rails on the local. The area between the express tracks are empty on the Sea Beach line.

I would assume he is going to make both an express and local version, considering he did the same with the (D)

Did you not see what I wrote above?! Most likely of there will be a version via the (R) it'll go local.
And he replied:

Pay attention.

the N skeleton is now completed along with some curves and switches in Manhattan and Manhattan bridge is done.
the N skeleton might be pass off to Phantom909 or/and rest of BVEStation staff.

Notice: N line will be done before A to Rockaways is done.

Sounds great. A question; will Coney Island Stillwell also be created, or will the route just go from/up to 86th Street?

Stillwell will be done last because of Coney Island yard, notice the (D) is still terminating at Bay 50th st. C.I. Yard requires heavy work lol

I would like to say that im officially also working on the Astoria bound N . Right now im collecting HQ announcements and recording a few manual ones so we can have a NTT and regular versions of the route . im also going to make sure there's a few short turns on the route incase you dont feel like playing the full route or you feel like playing/creating a GO like to 57st , times sq , queens plaza or to lex-59st . Im also going to include all announcements for these short turn . im also going to lay out the brightness effect and signaling into the route , so stay tuned for updates from the development crew.

Announcements should be the last thing it doesn't matter whether the announcements are manual or auto it can always be changed. There are plenty of people who could volunteer to get things if you don't have them(announcements) my point it shouldn't be the main priority at the moment.

Actually it is. In order to make it correct for the automated to play correctly with correct station times.

I will be overseeing the construction that ARome is doing along with JayJay85 and the rest of the BVEStation staff.

That's a minor coding issue. As long as the route file pulls up the correct announcement file, there's nothing to worry about. If there's something wrong with the route where the announcement doesn't play, all you need to do is either change the name of the announcement file or change the name in the route file. Regardless, there isn't a need for someone to get the recordings well before the route is under development.

That's just my opinion though.

It's true, in .csv files, you can change the coding to make the announcement play once the doors open and change the times last to suit the files

Ya and route viewer you obviously can roam the track and type in the announcement code at wherever location xxxx meters.
Announcements and static trains takes no time.

Not an opnion at all its a actual fact. But also the station time is important due to the fact when the doors open on the train we hear the announcement automatically play. So to make it realistic the station wait has to be adjusted.

That is real cool. I personally feel like the N is underappreciated because it really has a great run when it is a fully express route. To me it is the face of the Broadway Line.
Title: Re: Official Update Thread For The Northbound N Line
Post by: Mr Railfan on October 17, 2012, 12:21:14 pm
I agree. I grew up taking the N express in Manhattan. If you want to catch an N via Broadway express , then i suggest catching one of the Rush hour trains. They usually have 3-4 N trains that run to 42 or 57 via Broadway express . Luckily the current version of the N i'm working on is Sea beach lcl / 4 ave Exp / B'way Exp / Astoria lcl.

There is a plan to make it go fully local in brooklyn and manhattan and fully express in brooklyn and in queens, so expect that for the final release of the N.

Sounds good. Astoria and Sea Beach Express are gonna be so hype. I grew up taking the (Q)<Q>(W) Express in Manhattan, so I am not really a big fan of the Broadway Express (N), seeing that it stole the (W) trains cars and route basically. But who doesn't love that run on the Sea Beach Express.

Are you thinking of going Express from Kings Highway, before 86 St, or both possibly? I would go Kings Highway for starters, who liked a route that doesn't make any stops for about 10 mins.

If we finish the stretch between CI and 86 then:
Switches to the express track before 86 street, runs non stop to 59 street via Express track and then resumes regular express stops along 4th ave.

If we don't finish  the stretch between CI and 86 then it will run express from kings hwy.

New objects dedicated to the development will be rolling this way.

There is never a release date planned for any route in development. Since the developers are not getting paid for this, they may use as much time as they need.

its not even about getting paid. its the fact that we all have lives and that we cannot spend 24/7 working on openbve routes. Don't worry though, The Northbound N will be here soon. just have patience people  8)

One thing at a time. Route development takes months. I'd say give it another half a year and then we'll see if anything surfaces.

wait until the NB N is finished. sometimes the objects used 2 create one line in one direction can be used with other objects 2 create the SB route.

It would make sense for a Southbound (N) to be made because it could had been easily copied and pasted from just after 57th St to the bridge but at the sametime the (N) developers are getting help from the Northbound (R). But can't wait for the next release either way!!!

I am waiting. I was just asking if it will ever happen to be made.

So I am assuming that there will EVENTUALLY be a southbound N, right?

It's not packaged in as i hadn't released it. I'm removing bugs and glitches currently. It will be released with the (B) and (D) line updates, hopefully before new years.
