BVEStation Network News / Reporting Threads on Forums
« on: September 02, 2018, 11:13:25 pm »
Hello Members,

I know the forums may have some inactivity at times, especially when trying to contact staff. Please send an email or reach out through Facebook for any questions if you cannot reach someone for information. It will take some time to get forums up to par.

Stop using the report feature to ask for content. That's not what it's used for.

Updates are slow, but work is being done. In order to get quicker rendering, the number of faces must be reduced.  This image is of Girard Street in Tottenville looking towards the tracks.  Originally this view which is is 25 meter section had 12000 faces. It now has only 2000 with better detail because the textures are image files rather than vectors. An automobile that once had 500 faces now has 25. A bus with 1200 faces now has 55. More textures have to be loaded, so I am not sure if there is a downside to that.

Excellent work. Very good when it comes to scenery and track layout. Just make sure that most people can run the game. Your route wont gain much support if members are unable to play it. But very good work.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: New User Problems running NYCT-D[v4.2]
« on: June 07, 2017, 10:40:11 am »
I hope this is the proper location for requesting help with this particular download.  If not, please direct me to the correct location.

I am trying to run C:\5662_openBVE-Stable_Win\BVE\Stable\UserData\NYCT-D [v4.2]\Route\NYCT-D [v4.2]\SMEE\NYCT-D[205 to Coney Island].csv.
I am getting 1686 file(s) not found,  20572 errors, and 2 warnings.
I also got a message about the default train R160 not being found.  I have found R160 Siemens OpenBVE train and pointed it to that.
In the log.txt file I see errors such as:
FileName C:\5662_openBVE-Stable_Win\BVE\Stable\Object\LisaRaye2\TJay rails\StaSlab3RL.csv not found in structure.rail at line 103, column 1 in file C:\5662_openBVE-Stable_Win\BVE\Stable\UserData\NYCT-D [v4.2]\Route\NYCT-D [v4.2]\SMEE\NYCT-D [205 to Coney Island].csv

In my directory structure I have a directory LisaRaye (without the 2) under the Object directory.

Should these missing files be included in the zip?
If not, where should I find the correct ones?
How might I have mis-installed the files?

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

LisaRaye2 is a folder that has so many updates to it that the file is too big to hand out to users. The developers are in the process of fixing that situation. We do not have a timetable of exactly when this issue will be fixed since that folder affects objects on several lines in OpenBVE, but we are aware of the problem.

Content Development / Re: Route CSV: Understanding Stations
« on: May 23, 2017, 02:23:41 pm »
I've been reading through CSV files, and the CSV file documentation at http://openbve-project.net/documentation/

I understand Track.Sta, Track.Station and Track.Stop, but when I display the route in RouteView, with Events on, I see an event block called Sta End.  I don't see that documented, nor is the length of the station documented anywhere.   What is going on with this?

Thanks,

Ed G

In the future please do not make various posts in multiple sections of forums to ask for help. Someone will help you. You can also use the BVE Support thread ot help you out. There maybe similiar users who have asked the same question who could have help you with your problem.

You see this is the problem, do you know how long it takes to make routes? People have lives, but you know I guess y'all don't understand the meaning of a life because y'all complaining about a train simulator... a train simulator, if y'all can't wait for routes, make them yourself, but I guess y'all trying so I applaud y'all but still y'all should try to develop some before talking smack, just being real. Instead of playing bve, stack up and get something called a girl? Does that ring a bell?

No need for that type of talk. Regardless if it's truthful or not, there are better ways to address others. Let's keep that in mind for the future.

This thread isn't for restating the obvious. You guys are part of this community. If you have something to contribute and it could help liven back up the site, then feel free to give some input.

Transit / Re: Why not extend the 6 to South Ferry?
« on: April 12, 2017, 06:57:03 pm »
You are creating more traffic by extending the 6 there. You will be causing delays on the 1 and 5 lines.

Looking good! Are you guys working on the 9 as well?

No need to. The 1 route is pretty much the 9

Well not really much of a new idea but being on this site for about 5 years one of the liveliest threads here on BVEStation was the "The ONLY Official OpenBVE Screenshots/Videos Thread" (https://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=134.msg442#msg442). A thread where people would freely share pictures or videos that were either train operating videos, music videos, or personal modifications they have done or are doing. Most people would usually go and showcase their work on Facebook now, including me ::), because it's easier and more convenient to post pictures, video, and/or share content from other websites to Facebook. A lot of people visit bvestation but only the same handful of people post on the thread. Not only that but when people do create a personal mod and post it here, on bvestation, they tend to think of themselves as developers and make their own thread about their work and only talk about it once or twice when they should just post it on "The ONLY Official OpenBVE Screenshots/Videos Thread."
The administration will try to enforce that as much as possible. Also we cannot take into account that certain users don't read. But overposting or spam posting won't be tolerated. We will try our best to also enforce that. If you have any ideas to make the link you submitted in your post more lively, drop me an inbox I can definitely converse and take some of your ideas and put it into fruition.

BVEStation Network News / Multiple Accounts
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:52:35 am »
For those of you who are friend with members that have been recently banned, please ask them to refrain from making multiple accounts. If you are breaking rules we have to enforce them. The staff here will be creating a page soon where banned members can appeal their ban and we will take certain things into consideration. I will post the criteria for that by the end of this week. In the mean time. We are scanning the forums for any type of activity that goes against BVEStation rules and will enforce them. Let's try to have fun this year, but be respectful and do things the right way.

BVEStation Network News / BVEStation: Let's make 2017 Great Again!!
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:25:20 am »
Some old members may remember me, others may not. But I am trying to find new ways to help spice up the site or add any features that members would like to see in the future for BVEStation. The staff, pac & myself would like to know how we can make the user experience for all, much more enjoyable. Use this thread to submit any ideas. We (the staff) will try our best to implement these ideas.

Please keep your ideas clean and try not to downplay someone else suggestions.
