Remember that 1989 R44 I posted a while ago?

It's still here, and nearly finished:

why was the beta download link removed?
The train had some pretty serious bugs. Rest assured it won't take much time to release.

Some preview shots of the R40 Slant, R40M, and R42:

The R40 Slant, R42, and R40M are all under active development by mudwrestle, Mr Railfan, and I.

Is this R44 going to feature Fan Railer's WH 1447J motor sound?
Yep. I'm working on that right now actually.

You forget place my name on author label
I added your name to the author label and added an icon to the download page.

I just tried the train out, great work guys! It's very impressive!
One suggestion I have would be to re-do the wiper in the cab. Right now its rather pixelated and is a bit distracting.

That's one of the things that'll be addressed in the V2.0 release, along with a detailed bathroom haha.

Is there a new version of OpenBVE coming someday or has all development stopped?

Mike

That's up in the air at this point. Technically openBVE is still under development by Odakyufan, but progress is very slow. Anyone can advance the program forward however, as the source code is available for anyone to edit.

Railway folder
It has the Route, Sounds, and Objects folder
Make sure that the folders are called Route, Object, and Sound. For example make sure your sound folder is called "sound", NOT "sounds". Same for the object folder.

Now that the OP's question appears to have been answered, it may be a good idea for an admin to lock this topic, if it's okay for me to request. Thanks.
No worries, I dealt with it.

Hopefully it can be released before summer ends  ::)
Although I wish it could, it's unlikely. There's a bunch of other projects that have priority over it.

Sounds great! Hopefully when this happens OpenBVE will have more mac users
I'm one of those mac users actually. Unfortunately I just don't know how to do the work required to get them working.

It's very unfortunate that Hmmsim isn't compatible with openBVE routes, as all of the new material coming out now in multiple countries is now openBVE-only. Despite this, excellent news!

I was about to buy a keyboard with a number pad. I just hate my r46 stuck on the airplane sign when I'm on the F line. Ill get a windows computer sooner or later, but thanks!
Eventually we will get animated rollsigns working on mac, we just need a developer with the knowledge to step up and code a .NET plugin that is suitable.
