« on: January 10, 2013, 07:10:19 pm »
NOTE: Not all of these may be possible

(1) Nothing
(2):Nothing
(3):Extend it from 148St-Lenox Terminal to the West side, maybe provide a transfer to the (A)(B)(C)(D) at 145st and the (1) at 145st
(4):Nothing
(5):Nothing
(6):Extend it a little farther than Brooklyn Bridge, Maybe to South ferry to provide extra service
(7):Already being extended by the MTA
(9):Bring back the 9 to releave congestion on the (1) north of 96st or beef up (1) Train service
(A):Stop going to lefferts and Beach116st and only go to Far rockaway
(B):Have the (B) local in all boroughs, no express in brooklyn
(C):Extend the C to lefferts blvd
(D):Create an extra track in the bronx so the (D) can run express in all boroughs
(E):Have the (E) go from 7av-53st-59st and then curve down instead of going to 50st
(F):Nothing
(G):Nothing
(H):Have the H go from broad channel to beach 116st instead of the (S) shuttle
(J):Nothing
(K):Nothing unless you want extra local service on the 8th Avenue line
(L):Have a station the connects with the (3) were they cross
(M):Have the M go from forrest hills to second ave like the (V) and create a mrytle avenue shuttle
(N):Nothing
(Q):Have the (Q) go express in brooklyn like the good old days of the <Q>
(R):Nothing
(S)-Shuttle: Have a arching bronx shuttle from VanCortland Park-(1) to Woodlawn(4) then to Noorwood205st(B)(D)
(T):Finish that Sh*t already MTA!
(Z):Get rid of the (Z) save some money, its useless

(Z):Get rid of the (Z) save some money, its useless

What do you guys think?

Ok...

3: Maybe... makes sense, but an OOS transfer can accomplish that.
6: Only two tracks there, the 4/5/6 can't all fit on two tracks...
9 & Z: The 9 to the 1 is the same as the Z is to the J. If the Z is useless, then why restore the 9? (The 1 didn't lose any service, the 9's were turned into 1's)
A & C: The C is a local. It CANNOT handle Lefferts. I don't know why people think that's realistic.
B & Q: Not necessary, why fix what isn't broken...
D: There are some provisions for it, but it would still be extremely difficult.
E: What?
H: Essentially a relabeling, whatever floats your boat...
K: We need extra local service on the 8th Avenue line...
L: Extremely necessary.
M: No, that would just screw over Myrtle riders for the sake of one stop in Manhattan... just run the (M) full route full time...
S: Just plain foaming, it's called the Bx10...
T: Perfect example of WHY all of your foam can't happen. It takes a lot to build a subway, and the MTA doesn't answer to your foaming...

(6) I don't really see the need for it. You can beef up service on the (1)
(9) This suggestion would basically contradict you getting rid of the (Z).
(A) Im sorry I will have to disagree with you here. Im not sure people would be too happy about that.
(B) I don't think this would sit well with Brighton riders. The ride is slow enough.
(C) Disagreed. Your making a long local line even longer. Your also risking making the line more delay prone.
(D) I disagree. This would cost too much.
(H) There's no point in wasting money to change the signs.
(L) Agreed. It would make it easier to get to the IRT.
(M). Disagree. I have ridden a packed M train on the line just before Marcy. It wouldn't work out.
(Q) The Q is fine.
(S) What's the point? A few bus connections wouldn't be too much.
(T) Unless you can build another 1000 feet of subway tunnels in 2 hours, you might aswell just wait.
(Z) Agreed. Just sign them up as (J)'s.

@Threxx1 Well that T has been in development since the 1900's so..............
And by the (E) i mean Have it go from the 7avenue station then to 59st colombus circle: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=206607282543024359070.0004c2c0e458df6fa9c3b&msa=0

Then turn to go downtown

I also have a quesition, why do they plan to make the (Q) run with the (T). Will it still be running to Astoria?
(EDIT)
I found this on the MTA website "Phase One subway service, which is projected to carry over 200,000 weekday riders, will entail a reroute and extension of the existing (Q) service in Manhattan. (Q) service will operate along Second Avenue from 96th Street to 63rd Street, where it will divert west along the existing 63rd Street line, stopping at the Lexington Avenue/63rd Street Station, where riders will be able to transfer to the (F) line. It will then continue west under Central Park on tracks that are currently not being used for passenger service and then head south, stopping at express stations along Seventh Avenue and Broadway before crossing the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn. Passengers traveling to Lower Manhattan on this route will be able to transfer for local service to destinations south of Canal Street. Alternate service will be provided to replace service to Astoria, Queens.

I wonder what will replace the (Q) to astoria?

Nobody knows if it will still run to Astoria. I've heard rumors of the W maybe coming back but those are rumors. As for the Q, maybe it was the most logical.

If you would restore services to the K it should run express between 50St and Chambers, because then you would have 3 locals (C)(E)(K) on the same track. And that would also provide some extra express service, so then you would have (A) and (K) running express while the (C) and (E) run local between 50th and Chambers

What do you guys think?

3: i contradict that. u should just extend the Q and the T from 125th st station under 125 to broadway, w/ connections 2 the 2 & 3 @ lenox, A, B, C, D and the 1 on broadway
6: the 4 and 5 r fine doesnt make sense
9 & Z: bringing back the 9 and getting rid of the Z make no sense.
M: instead of a mrytle shuttle, extend the line from middle village 2 jackson heights via 69 st
Q: the B does that
L: i use tht intersection everyday totally agree
E: going north instead of south doesnt make sense

The (W) will have to come back to replace the (Q)...

As for the (T):

1929-39: Stopped because of Great Depression.
1955: Stopped to repair rest of system.
1970's: Stopped due to city nearly going bankrupt.

See the issues???

(3): That is what the BX19 is for
(6): No that will add more congestion on the 4 and 5
(9): Contradicted yourself about the 9 and Z
(A): The A to Lefferts and B116 is fine
(B): I like the B the way it is.. Maybe they should make the B run to the Bronx during Mid days
(C): That route would be WAY to long
(D): Make the D run express during Mid days in Peak direction in the Bronx.
(E): The E is fine
(F:) Express from Bergen St to Church Av
(G): Let it run to Kings Highway maybe?
(H): No point
(L): I totally agree
(M): The M is fine
(Q): No that is what the B is for
(S)- It already exist its called the BX10
(T): Few more years.. But they should make a 2 Av Express
(Z): The Z is fine. Do you really want to take a J train during rush hours making all stops from Sutphin to Myrtle?

In a perfect world, the only thing I would change is to add a line that starts a 242 St Van Cortlandt, run it across the Bronx then have it go directly to Queens.
It would save a ton of time over taking the train to 42 then the 7.

3, seems like a good idea.
6, Used to run to South Ferry Loop. The most I could say would seem like interesting Idea, Extend the 6 to NJ, but not going to happen.
9, pointless. Beef up 1 train
A, stay the same. C won't be able to handle it.
B, Mehhh
C, leave alone as it is.
D, Doesnt the D already have 3 tracks?
E, leave it as it is
F, Make an express again.
G, Poor thing.
H, use the Round Robin tracks and keep that as shuttle for A line.
M, Come back as brown M
N, nothing.
Q, Like it was in the late 80's early 90's
R, Nothing
S I agree, but use it as #8,
T, I agree, hurry up.
Z, leave it alone.

I would add a route, IRT from Bronx directly to Brooklyn, not go through Manhattan and end, maybe somewhere close to Borough Hall. Create a Similar U ( fictional BVE route), A route to La Guardia, And something maybe into like Perth Amboy, or Journal Square.

The (Q) is planned to go to 96 St, then 125 St when the (T) is complete, hope to see some Express service on it North of 72 St. (Q) to Astoria doesn't really need to be replaced, maybe short turn a few extra (N) trains at Whitehall.
