I was watching that. I made the exterior in sketchup, and it is a .skp file, what file do I need it to be for the actual exterior file?

It needs to be either a .animated, .csv, .b3d, or .x file. I wouldn't recommend using .x, as I have seen it only a few times, but the others are frequently used.
No wonder that ant gets around so fast! He has his own subway.

You need to use a converter to export it to one of those formats from a 3DS file exported from sketchup. Google explains it better than I do.

Research it
Just type .3ds to .b3d or .csv

but the sketchup file is .skp, not .3ds.

Did that. There was no pages to convert 3ds to b3d if there was, you have to pay.
