The (7) extension to 34 St-11 Av is supposed to be completed in 2013, while the R142A conversion and R188 new car order will finish in 2015. That means that when the new station opens, the line's fleet should be split between the R62As and R142A/R188 cars.

@ Lance
I heard the R62A's are gonna go to the (6) and (4) when the R188s are completed and on the (7) so that means the (7) will be like the (L) in a way. But who knows

Yeah, I know that. I was just saying that when 34th & 11th first opens, there will probably be a mixed fleet on Flushing until all the new cars arrive.

By that time, it will still be a mix of R62A's and R142A's/R188's

R188 are future train cars
so I think they might look like a updated R142A

The R188s will look very similar if not identical to the R142As.

As for propulsion packages and the like, I don't know if the R188s and converted R142As will receive different electrical components.

IMO, it should have FIND systems, when trains are switched from route to route along the 2,4,5 and 6 lines, the strip maps aren't changed out, best to have the LED display so that it could be displayed properly

Like the R143 sets, which were made specifically for the BMT Canarsie Line (even though a set or two was on the (M) before CBTC went live on the (L) train), The R188 sets (including the R142A conversions) are specifically made to run on the (7), and to use CBTC once it goes live on that line.

The fact that both the BMT Canarsie Line and the IRT Flushing Line are both non-shuttle, self-contained routes (Meaning hosting a single service) explains CBTC operation the (L), and the current conversion to CBTC operation on the (7).

Either way, as you know, the IRT Mainlines run 10-car trains, whereas the IRT Flushing Line runs 11-car trains.

when for bve route

If you're asking when it's gonna be for BVE, probably not soon, since we don't know what's different. But in the meantime, do you mind typing out your posts with a little more detail? It's not easy to try and understand what you're saying.

His post was 2 months ago anyway, he should of been hinted that it wouldn't be answered.

when for bve route
A BVE route will probably be made when developers actually get to see the stations for themselves.

A R188 train will be made when developers actually get to see the R188 in real life. None of this will happen for a couple of years, so just sit tight and be patient.

As for changes, my guess would be that they might add a FIND, but who knows what they will change.

We already have an R188 for BVE, from Trevor Day BVE World

I'm pretty sure he means a train based off the real R188, not a fictional concept of it.
