Wow, Great work and how did you get the preGOH trains?
A friend of William gave me the R40 trains to complete my preGOH collection cause he also developed them with him, especially the 1980s version.
William knows that I have them so I cannot get trouble, and maybe there's a chance I can develop with William, but he didn't answer yet.
I already fixed and improved them on my side and maybe he would get satisfied with what I done with them.
Hopefully there's a chance the R40 trains will get released soon!
The R32 and R38 are released, and the R16 and R30 in the picture no because I improved and re-textured them to add graffiti and other paint schemes (just like the bright red R16 in my signature for example), and didn't release them yet

NYCTA Projects / (WIP) L line
« on: November 13, 2017, 12:54:37 pm »
Hello! I think some of you already know me with my 1970s NYCTA routes project! Anyways, I decided to start working on the L line and make a decent detailed route with smooth curves, switches and walls of course; as no official W.I.P. route has been announced yet. This version will include 2010s, 1990s-2000s, 1980s & 1970s LL line. So I'm gonna try my best to work on it as fast as possible even though I'm working on the 1970s 8th Avenue line along, and have school. I have a lot of work here so don't be surprised if this project will go slow.

Since I started not a long time ago I'm only at Rockaway Parkway, and it's already big work here because of the yard and the building at the end of the platform I need to make. Anyways, here is my work so far:

As you can see, nothing really special here, hopefully we will see more progress soon! But I just wanted to let you know that a L route is being worked on!

Thank you!

Okay, here we go again! Finished Spring St, Canal St, Chambers St, Broadway - Nassau St, High St, Jay St - Borough Hall and Hoyt Schermerhorn Streets, including new signs and graffiti in tunnels. The Fulton Ave branch is already being worked on. I was quite busy with school and working on some trains otherwise I would have already been at Euclid Ave at least, keep in mind that my goal here is to finish the stations and add main details such as signs, and exits. All minor details will be added at the end.
I also featured my re-textured R16 and R30s and Mudwrestle's R32/38/40/M/42 that I also re-textured/fixed for personal preference reasons.
(The R40 series are still W.I.P. and not public so don't ask for them !!!)

Spring Street:

Canal Street with R16 A train:

Chambers Street - World Trade Center with R30 A train:

Broadway - Nassau Street with R32 A train:

High Street with R38 A train:

Jay Street - Borough Hall with R40M-R42 A train:

And finally Hoyt - Schermerhorn Streets with R40 A train:

Enjoy the pics and stay tuned for Nostrand-Utica-Eastern Parkway-Euclid and Grant Avenues!!

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: OpenBVE locked at 40fps
« on: November 09, 2017, 05:14:20 am »
That's strange and weird issue. My PC runs OpenBVE at 60 fps, and depending on the detail train, exterior will be fairly good too, ranging from 60 (low detail) to 30 (the 68 that was recently released). I wonder if your issue has to be with the 3D settings of the Nvidia Graphics card, as i have the same 950m card but with 2 GB.
I still don't know. I remember when I played around with 3D settings with OpenBVE via the Nvidia control panel, but I messed up a little and had 20fps on the R30 so I removed OpenBVE from the custom graphic 3D settings and set it back to basic high performance settings and the game got back to normal (still 40fps), I might try again messing with graphic settings. The second thing I thought about would be upgrading to 1.5.2 version hoping to get more framerates but I'm not sure because I already heard that people have issues with it so I might stay with 1.5.1.5 because it's working good unlike the previous 1.5.1 versions

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: OpenBVE 1.5.2.2 issues
« on: November 03, 2017, 06:17:36 am »
1.4.3 was the best version for NYCTA routes, and it was well optimized, but didn't have the features from newer versions like the mini map and the passenger view options. It's from 1.5 versions that it started to downgrade badly, the 1.5.1.0 and 1.5.1.2 were the worst. A while ago, I upgraded to 1.5.1.5 which seems fine, but there are still 2 issues: gray box exterior trains on some IRT SMEEs and the game locked at 40fps, even with crappy route and trains, even though I have high specs. I'm thinking of upgrading to 1.5.2 versions but I'm not sure.
Btw, it can fix most of the issues: try to run the game with high performance Nvidia or AMD graphic card by right clicking on it, your game might be running on the built in graphic card which is not powerful, so if you do so it might run a bit better and as I said fix some issues but not all of them

I have good news :)

1) I found the real font used for route signs in the 1960s - 1970s, which is the Unimark International, however, I couldn't find any download so I tried to make it via an image, but it was unsuccessful, but I found another font that looks exactly the same as Unimark International and it is Akzidenz Grotesk Bold.
So I remade all the signs with this font and made them simpler, and it looks more realistic and even better. Here are a few of them:

2) Since there are a lot of replies on this thread, I'd rather post less frequently and make major posts showing 10 stations, I think I don't need to make hundreds of posts for nothing, but this one was exceptional. Stay tuned for more, Canal Street is done and I'm currently at Chambers St, adding signs and other stuff.

EDIT: Sorry if the images didn't appear, I deleted the post on imgur like a dummy. I re-uploaded them

The escalator is now done ^^
I'm gonna put it in W4 and finish the station itself!

I Love the pictures!! Are you going to do the B and D and maybe the W as well?
Check out the list I made on the first page, there're the B and D lines and even the TT West End line, the W never existed back then, but the RR was similar, but not planning to do it yet. But I'll add the E as well to Rockaway Park or WTC.

Working on the escalator for W4 St, not only for this station but in general for all other 70s routes. 23rd, 14th St stations are done, but I'll post them with W4 St when completed

34th Street is finally completed, however I didn't find any textures for the wall tile, so it might change, if I don't find any textures, I'll keep the current one.

I decided as well to add some scenarios to my "to do list", including the A to Rockaway Park. I will maybe add to Euclid Ave scenarios but not sure at all, it's already a lot work here:

-1969 to 1973: A (207th Street - Far Rockaway) Middays or weekends and late nights, 8 Ave express & Fulton St local
A (207th Street - Lefferts Blvd) Rush hours, 8 Ave express & Fulton Street local

This looks VERY impressive! Great job! A lot of effort put into it.
Thank you! And yeah. I'm just realizing how better could I have made the Nassau St Lines but I will make an update after my last 70s route, including the 168th Street - 121st Street extension and the M to Coney Island via Brighton
