for those of you that didnt know recently the people that where in charge of the OpenBVE simulator designed by someone called michelle decided to change the name do to the controversy on how the game wasnt anything at all like BVE by mackoy. so to see the dispute they changed the name from
OpenBVE to Train Sim Frame Work
and their new site being http://trainsimframework.org/ (http://trainsimframework.org/)
state your opinion.

There is no controversy. OpenBVE has simply become more than a BVE-similar program, so the name was changed to reflect what openBVE has become.
However I personally don't like the new name. If there is to be a new name it shouldn't be Train Sim Framework. That frankly just sounds stupid and won't attract newcomers as well as a name like Open Train Simulator for example.
On a side note, the polling results show a pattern in the BVEStation community that there is a lot of resistance to change in general. People seem to fixate on things a lot here....

"Train Sim Frame Work"??
It sounds more like some kind of dynamic library or header or w/e and not an actual program...i do not approve lol
eh w/e we'll still call it openbve :P
-
yeah that name sounds retarded, OpenBVE was actually kinda catchy
-
LOL I agree OpenBVE was the fit b\c it basically was an OPEN version for the Original BVE which was just a cab sim.

It sounds like a teacher saying this name out loud
Like "Hello everybody. Today we are going to do a "thing" called Train Sim Frame Work:."
it sounds un-intresting and very boring.
-
Honestly this name change to me is bull. How in the world am I gonna get use to saying Trainsim Framework w/e? :P

Bet you if it originally came out as "Trainsim Framework," you'd remember it.
If it does change, people would do either 2 things, 1) still call it OpenBVE or 2) get used to calling it TSFW.
-
Right, but I've adapted to the name openBVE for like over a year now so that's another story
-
That doesn't change a thing, people can always adapt to other things over time. For example...cars to hybrid cars.
-
I think it's a good idea because it won't confuse people now that BVE 5 is back in production and in beta now too.

Lol I think the people who did the name change as too much time on thief hands. Picking random words out a dictionary to create a whole new name for a program. Please tell Michelle to ride a bike lol

OpenBVE is BETTER!! "Trainsim Framework" is BORING!! Sounds like an art project :
"Class, today we are going to do an art project called Trainsim Framework"
UGH!!! >:( >:(
