I don't think that feature was added to the R110A in real life. I may be wrong and half asleep so don't take my word on it.
When i look and listen closely i usually see all 4 of the wheels go on a gap between the rails and that is what usually makes the sound, I also have seen it happen on those i'm guessing pressure pads that makes the signals change there lights.
There are a lot of LEDs we didn't put into the R142 because it would take 15 mins(exaggerated) to find your destination before you start operating the route. What we did do was create a template so anyone can be able to create their own personal LEDs. Updating the signs every time the MTA wants to "test" signs can be a hassle too, like the shortened destination display they eventually removed on most 142s.
I don't suggest releasing it now take all the time you need after all you guys are busy
