A discrete graphics card (preferably NVIDIA) vs an integrated gpu is also recommended, although you may get by with mediocre frame rates running Intel HD 4000 or higher. Don't expect any sort of performance with an HD 3000 unit or below.
Elaborating on the framerate aspect of this conversation...

The amount of detail being put in to the Q line is far beyond anything that has been done before on any NYCT BVE routes. This means that the textures are much higher in resolution, and furthermore there are many more of them than previous routes. Don't be surprised if you don't get above 20 frames per second unless you have a (good) discrete graphics card and 4GB or more of RAM.
At this point we are pushing openBVE's renderer to its limit.

Unbelievable. I remember when I started to play BVE 2, computer drawn textures and objects with bare station platforms were the norm. Then ipac stepped everything up with new high quality objects and digitally drawn textures. Shortly after, photorealism was introduced, followed by animations, now there are even more realistic objects. The standards of NYCT routes have risen so much in such a little amount of time. This Q line is going to set a new precedent for routes.

Great work!

Its been over 10 years (Ernie Alston's 7 was created in 2001), and since, its amazing to see how far we have come from those days.

Not a knock on you ipac, I still love to run the (G), but remember when you made this?

This was like most amazing thing in the world when it was first released.  We couldn't believe how amazing this route looked for its time. And now, the the new (Q) line will come out soon and will completely blow this out of the water. Simply amazing.

A small preview of 7th Avenue:

Looking at the unused Staircases that lead to the abandoned mezzanine, note the High ceiling at this part of the station.

I have some good news. I have made the timers trip the train if you run through the red. I am still testing this at the moment, but i will post a video to show a preview of it. Unfortunately, this uses new coding and will not work with timers currently installed on NYCT BVE routes, making them obsolete. If i am satisfied with the results, all new lines will have timers with tripping ability.
