Here's another clip, but this time, with bi-level cars I found in my Holland objects folder:
OpenBVE Exclusive: F40PH-4ACe With 7 Bi-Level Cars

I'm not sure if this deserves its own thread, so I chose to put it here. It's a nice change of scenery, I'd say:
OpenBVE Exclusive: TGV High Speed Rail In The Netherlands Montage (330 kph; 205 mph)

The local was kinda rough starting out of stations, but overall, a decent ride:
New Jersey Transit Comet IIM on Train 3837 (Local) From Secaucus Junction to Princeton Junction

The express on the other hand, was a different story. These were shot on 6/27/12, the day where there were insane delays. 4646 manages to accelerate the 10 car  MLV set quite nicely out of Princeton, and we reach top speed in about 3 or so minutes. We continue to cruise, encountering an Amtrak NER train twice along the way before running into delays. Originally, I would have shot this all the way into Penn station, but because of the delays, I ran out of memory and had to conserve the last remaining mb's for other clips. What was supposed to take only 50 min ended up taking about an hour and a half.

Transit / Re: Joint LIRR and MNRR M9 / M9A procurement information

Damn, that is a long time from now. Did they at least have a sketch?
Well, from the documentation, they're still working out the final design specs. But if I didn't read anything incorrectly, I believe they're looking to make them inter-operable with the M7s. So don't expect anything radically different from what we have now.

The Master Controller positions need to be fixed. But other than that, for this level of train, I'd say it's pretty good.

Just letting you know, the R160A doesn't turn properly. But that's an easy fix ;)

Just wondering, what program are you using to edit the audio files?
if you mean the way openBVE plays the audio files while the train runs, there was program for editing openBVE trains on trainsimframework's website for download, but that site is now unavailable. If anyone wants it, I may be able to get it on this site if the mods deem it appropriate.

Keep in mind however, that you can't just use that one program to perform modifications such as this one. It involves knowing which files to transplant, which ones to delete, how to handle a sound.cfg file, and which values are needed, and also how to manually change the motor/electric brake sound commands directly from the train.dat file.

EDIT: Although the main site has closed, the archived version is still up and easily navigatible, despite the fact that none of the downloads have been archived:

I'm just talking about the audio files not the configuration
Well, if you're just talking about capturing and modifying the files themselves, then I tend to use Audacity. It isn't the top tier program, but it works for my purposes.

I probably know the answer to this question, but where did you get the object file for this?

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: R40 slant

You can very easily create one using static trains from other routes, just go into the Objects folder for OpenBVE, search for "R40", then get a B3D file and open it up (I will use the files "R40_B.b3d and R40_B2.b3d" as examples, you need them both BTW). You should see image names like "R40_frontb.bmp" listed throughout the file, find all the images listed in both B3D files, then copy both the B3D file and all the images. Now create a folder in your R40 Slant folder called "cars", and paste all of them there. Now, open Notepad, and type this in:

[exterior]

0=cars\R40_B2.b3d
1=cars\R40_B.b3d
2=cars\R40_B2.b3d
3=cars\R40_B.b3d
4=cars\R40_B2.b3d
5=cars\R40_B.b3d
6=cars\R40_B2.b3d
7=cars\R40_B.b3d
8=cars\R40_B2.b3d
9=cars\R40_B.b3d

Save that file into your R40 Slant folder as Extensions.cfg

There you go!  ;)

The R40 slant files are in one of the object folders for the existing routes that are available for download at this site. Just do some file searching on your hard drive and you'll find it eventually.

look in the "Utica" and "Octavia Booker" folders. they should be there somewhere.

BVEStation Network News / Re: The new R46 has been released.
« on: June 28, 2012, 08:01:08 pm »
That is not what I was talking about. I meant when the train goes around curves. Similar to with the R33WF, it enters the curve very roughly instead of smoothly. Same goes for entering upward/downward slopes.

It's cause the train isn't programmed so that you're riding in the first car like all the other trains. Anybody have a fix for this? I know its something in the train.dat file.

The way the pivoting trucks work is that they are treated as separate cars. So the second car is technically the R46's body while the first and third cars are the trucks.

Essentially, in the train.dat file, as an 8-car set, it's in reality 24 cars.

So in the train.dat file, there's a drivercar index, it's set to 1 for the R46's carbody.
Exactly. In a train like this, if you have the drivecar as 0 (or the first car) then the cab view will pivot with the truck as opposed to the actual car body.
