How do I make the trains look like trains and not rectangular boxes? :-\
as the title says R142A R62 and R46 what you can do is take exterior views and b3d files from certain object folders, and put it in your train folder. but then again its for your private use only. Dont just mess around re-distribute it and claim it as yours. Another way is instead of the R62 theres an R62A thats already released with exterior views made by Rayvon in the old forums. For the R46 you can wait until JayJay and Error46146 are finished with their project. or use the R46 exterior views in the Octavia folder. and for the R142A, idk about that
theres a new r62a already in development along with the r142

Due to personal reasons, I'm halting the 6. Don't expect any updates till like May or something. Maybe even the summer.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but some things I need to get in order before I can fully commit to this project
no probs take your time 8). in the mean time,  im pretty sure that this will give enough time for developers to produce some up to date [5th generation] IRT rolling stock

« on: February 04, 2011, 08:20:42 pm »
Well after further working out the kinks BVEStationTV has been suspended indefinitely. If you would like videos of the past just search on Youtube for BVEStationTV.

But I am happy to announce that the shows name will be changed NYCTransitViews. It will be a CNN type of theme with reporters, direct news and weather analytics. Of course its third party content but BVEStation members are welcomed to watch, enjoy or participate. The team is being built but so far I have been getting support and hear is the crew:

Senior Editors

BStyles - Providing ideas and places of interests. Very knowledgable on information related to NYC, and also an excellent writer.

Lexington456 - An avid source of information especially dealing with the Bronx. Also very knowledgeable an assist with the production of the show.

coneyislandDFNQ - Founder and editor of the show. Also providing ideas and has some sort of knowledge of the MTA.

Staff

4 Train Express 7569 - Reporter and a member of BVEStation. Has some knowledge. Expect some good reporting.

coneyislandDFNQ - Reporter on the system in all 5 boroughs.

The crew will grow shortly but I can work with only what I have. Expect to see great videos. Please share your comments in the post about the videos or anything about the show. If you do have video or good speech abilities just reply to this post. Once again I thank (ipac) for allowing the show to run and support from the members.

If you need i can help out with video editing as i got sony vegas pro 9

NYCTA Projects / Re: BMT A/B Standard [OpenBVE] - Official Thread

The other 3 are at Coney Island yard and were being fully restored to operational status, although I don't know if the restoration has been canceled or not due to budget cuts.
Yep but restoration has been stopped due to the Winter season since they're not Stainless steel it makes no sense of repainting when weather will affect the cars look.Umm...I'm hearing they want2 do a fantrip this Summer or later in the year with some other car types but I don't want to ruin the surprise if there's a surprise. Also you can volunteer to work on subway cars(repaint etc) but they'll most likely assign people instead of them self picking.
you can actually see the standards when you pass by on the F if you look towards the yard . They are painted a grimy red and the paints falling off . It looks like a legit 90 year old train lolz . This summer they are probably going to do their regular R1-R9 fan trip [which im going on for sure if they do do it ;D] .

Nice!

However, I still can't keep myself from wondering where you got the sounds from lol

There's always MTH Electric trains. They made a BMT Standard that has realistic sounds. Also he could get permission from the creator of the R-1.
Damn do they really sound that similar?

well there is this guy on youtube who filmed the BMT D type Triplex fan trip and that was made around the same time as the BMT Standards although they are technically newer by a few years . Like hammers said they have very similar Gear and motor sounds [Loud groaning noise as they speed up] . Most of the early train models [R1-R9] [IRT Lo-v's] and many BMT trains had theses motor sounds .

Personally i think that these older cars have a better propulsion sound then these newer modeled trains [R142-R160]

BTW heres the video [PART 1] of the D type triplex fan trip [Please note this is not my video]

NYCTA Projects / BMT A/B Standard [OpenBVE] - Official Thread
« on: February 01, 2011, 04:23:10 pm »
i would like to inform you guys that i have begun work on the BMT A/B Standard ,also known as the BMT STD. This project will be delayed because of my work on the r30 and the r62a . After thats done im going do be helping out a few other developers with their projects . So after all of that is completed, i will focus my attention on this . I already have a beta exterior set up and i will be going to the Transit museum this week to get additional textures. the cab will also be photo-realistic [as always 8)] . i also have all the sounds for the project that i need. I will post additional updates and preview pictures in this thread. hope you guys can endure the wait  !

well that happened to me quite a few times too . i just dump the brakes a few times and the problem is solved [something is not letting the air out of the brake cylinder or something along those lines ...] . if that still doesnt help restart the route a few times and it should work .

and with the help of andy we implemented rollsigns .

We??? LOL Just kidding, just kidding. Don't get upset with me please. Btw tomorrow I'll start/finish the side rollsigns. I'm looking to use the 5 and 6 keys to switch between the north and south terminals respectively since the 7 and 8 keys are used already. The side route sign will use the same key as the front route signs.

BTW Does anyone know if the JoeKorNer signs are open source? I'm tired of making signs from scratch...
dont worry bout the signs themselves , ill create them if JoeKorNer's arent opened sourced , just worry bout the coding . Btw i hope you dont mind if i modify them a bit to make em look more realistic ....
