It's a Gillig Phantom they were testing around the city (I forgot what year it was), that did not do that well.

I've seen a lot of those... They have like 50% Gillig 50% RTS fleet here... The Gilligs especially the Advantage Gilligs do great out here

that is a Gillig that the MTA had for a little while, I'm not sure what the story was but the deal did not work out therefore we do not have these buses.

We tested those Gilligs for the powertrain setup it had. It was the first Alison-GM hybrid package provided.

It was a test bus. I believe the TA doesn't have it anymore. However, other transit systems have those, like LYNX and RTS in Florida.

I knew it!!! That's a 1994 Gillig Phantom. They arrived here in San juan for First Transit otherwise known as Metrobus 1 around December 09 Jan 2010. We got 40 of em. i know about 15 came from NYC and some came from  California. ( my best friend works as a driver on the M1) And back in 2009 we got the new Phantoms, Charcol Grey, Destination Signs are like the old New York Express Buses and the old old old Nova style buses. '

Has anyone seen or been on the old 87-95 Flxible 870 models? These sound like 1995 Flxible bus. Some came with the Allison Transmission, others. Not so sure. Signs here have a Poster on the front blocking the sign, green flip dot style.
