Title: (WIP) Official Update Thread for the Manhattan Bound 6 Line
Post by: Lexington456 on January 03, 2011, 08:13:24 pm
I talked to Twigga, he says he has no interests in developing the 6 anymore, so I offered to take it from him. He obliged.

Most of the line is already done, but with outdated objects and textures. I'm aiming to make this line 5th generation, along with the 4. Maybe there's an express route in the future.

Developing this line will also prep me for the 5

Be on the lookout for updates

you know whay considering that you have most of the train lines on the lexington line if you can get your hands on the 2 train and reroute it to the lexington line just like the regular route

If I were to do that, then I would have to build the 5 first. But GO's aren't usually top priority. Regular service comes first

Along with the 4, and now the E, the 6 is now fully OpenBVE compatible. HUGE thanks to BStyles for this process, and for totally organizing the route file (it was a huge mess lol)

Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)

As you can see, I changed the textures of 3rd Avenue- 138th Street. This is just one of many, and I mean many, edits coming. Stay posted

Ok this is just a little "state of the union" for the 6. What I'm trying to do is use two separate folders for the 6, one for each line it uses: The Pelham Line and the Lexington Avenue Line. The Lexington folder is being done by BStyles and will also be used on the 4. The old lex_local folder will be no more, so I had to switch all the necessary files from there to the new Pelham folder. Doing that has amassed tons of OpenBVE errors, errors I have begun to fix and am pretty close to almost eliminating. That's why you haven't seen any posts.

glad to hear you're working on it!

Remember it's 255 colors for the RGB values, not 256 lol

Due to personal reasons, I'm halting the 6. Don't expect any updates till like May or something. Maybe even the summer.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but some things I need to get in order before I can fully commit to this project
no probs take your time 8). in the mean time,  im pretty sure that this will give enough time for developers to produce some up to date [5th generation] IRT rolling stock

I've decided to resume the 6, but I'm going to be working at a really slow pace.

Here's what I've done for Hunts Point Avenue, way back in January

Nice! But what is that light brownish looking thing at the end of the platform?

it's actually a storage center at the real Hunts Point station, for things like track lubrication. At the real station, it's darker and there's more to it. I haven't edited it yet

Due to slow pace movements from my business I will be making a temporary skeleton for others to enjoy but will not be released unless the main developer (Lexington456) releases his 5th Gen route, and/or the 3D R142A is released by the BDC International. There will be three routes hopefully out of this which are as follows:

(6)<6> - to Brooklyn Bridge City and to Crown Heights - Utica Avenue via the (4) with the help of nyctrman
            - to Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park [85% Complete (skeleton)]

Both routes are automated with an automated Crown Heights (6) that was caught live by nyctrman and a (6) via the (4) by MrRailfan
