OpenBVE Hempstead Branch Development Thread
« on: January 27, 2015, 09:39:08 pm »
Hello,
Long time lurker, occasional poster here :P. I recently started developing the LIRR Hempstead Branch for OpenBVE. I have a pretty good skeleton from Hempstead to Hollis done, and I am working on placing some objects throughout the route. OpenBVE hasn't been responding very well to the game capture software, so I don't have videos yet. I will put some screenshots up in the coming days to show what I have so far. This is also the first time I'm doing a project like this, so there are a number of inaccuracies, lack of detail, etc, as I have been relying on information from the Wiki and BVE Klub. I am first just developing to Hollis, as the Jamaica area is highly detailed.
I'll keep everybody posted!

A couple low quality shots of the Bellerose station sign and the view of the tracks from Hempstead: http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/mrsam127/slideshow/

As you can see, all of the houses and trees are generic, and I have not yet done that much with the objects (or track curves for that matter). The first draft of the Bellerose station sign was created using Paint (yes, really  :o), and I reused a b3d file for a different station sign, so it is not of very good quality yet. More shots later this week!

I wouldn't want to impose, but if you find yourself at the station sometime soon I would like some pictures of the MU car stop signs, but no pressure  :)

Nice work!!

My first update video of the route (Hempstead to Hollis) is here (for some reason it wouldn't embed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnzn-0Mp-Gs. Please read the description and enjoy! More updates coming soon!
I think you need to get rid of the "s" in https. It will embed after that.
