Aqueduct Racetrack and North Conduit Ave on the A; Aqueduct Racetrack being the only station in the system to have one-direction service only and North Conduit Ave to have that extra long platform on the northbound track
To add, what about the A's track passing though broad channel?  water on both sides makes it pretty unique as well

This topic was started on 3/23/12 that is when the first photos on this thread was posted... I am well aware of the summer swaps.
this was taken before the summer swaps had started.
Gives a chance for the people who normally take the r46 on the A to take a r32 instead, for those who appreciate the nostalgia of the corrugated steel cars.

168th Street on the 1 line is pretty unique.  It looks like its outside being inside.

this is the trend on the A/C lines the past few years since the R44's have been terminated of service.
Also the R42 Rust bucket is running on the A as well

Station Talk / Re: SOPA Blackout
« on: January 20, 2012, 12:01:21 am »
anyone feel like this website which its users complain about people using other peoples work without their permission is supporting an anti SOPA online protest?
well it's not illegal, just plain disrespectful. Nice try though

And SOPA will be back, it's been thrown out twice already.
no need to condescend me, it is true read the history of some of the posts on this site and the legacy bvestation site

IMO, it should have FIND systems, when trains are switched from route to route along the 2,4,5 and 6 lines, the strip maps aren't changed out, best to have the LED display so that it could be displayed properly

Transit / Something about the R160's
« on: November 04, 2011, 12:17:57 pm »
In the past week I have noticed something different   about them, their seats are smaller than they used to be.  Is that to have more room for rush hour?

the B train is now back as Brighton Express for those who care and the Q will remain local

Transit / Re: does any one think R68's are getting shitty
« on: October 05, 2011, 08:47:22 pm »
I still like the R68's as i grew up with them on the N line when i lived in Astoria, I know they look obese but just something about them that no other train has, it looks like the inside of a R46 but with a stainless steel interior, and it has the propulsion of the R62A, meanwhile the R160's are rusting as well, and they have only been in service for the past 5 years or so, and the seals at the end of the cabs look like they are about to come off.

Okay, I see your points, and it would be better if the MTA ran the B 24/7 as opposed to how limited it already runs but it should run all the way to Norwood 205th Street local and D service should be Express in the Bronx, but do you agree with my A and C train plan?

What i would propose is
Get rid of the B because it is only run on weekdays and it slows down early morning C service because the B and C run on the same line up to 145th and because the B terminates most of the time at 145th it takes 10 minutes on weekdays to get a C train
get rid of the A to Lefferts and replace with the C and run the C full time basically C from 168th Street to Lefferts blvd and the A from 207th Street to Far Rockaway, that will avoid any kind of confusion that any tourists may have, and add more C trains to the early morning rush.
but what will the MTA do? not anything i said even though it makes some more sense.
if i were to think of a train line that may soon be cut i would have to say probably the B, it is useless in my opinion and it only slows down C service

It's useless, wow SMDHHH! Tell that to Brighton Riders. They would whip out their pitch forks and the meanest chainsaws and just rip you to shreds.
you can take the Q train from coney island to 42nd street and then get on the C uptown and vice-versa and that would make the B useless for any stops missed from the B, the E to D transfer in 7th Ave 53rd Street should cover any missed stops in manhattan south of 59th street and north of Grand street. The Q covers the brighton line.
