Title: (WIP) NYCT-A Line Update Thread (Rockaways)
Post by: JayJay85 on August 08, 2011, 10:48:02 pm
This is the update thread for the (A)  Line, which is currently under development by the BVEStation Staff. This thread will give you an idea of the progress, updates and information concerning the (A) Line. All 3 versions of the (A) line are being constructed and/or redeveloped.

The (A) line operates all times between Inwood-207 St, Manhattan and either Lefferts Blvd, Rockaway Park or Far Rockaway. During Rush Hours, trains operate to/from Rockaway Park. During Late Nights, (A) trains only go to Far Rockaway with a Shuttle train from Euclid Av to Lefferts Blvd.

The primary trainset for the (A) is R46. However, when the (A) is completed, it will use both R46 and R160 trainsets.

The (A) line will be made from top to bottom. Do not ask when it will be completed nor anything off topic as the post will be deleted immediately.

Thats awesome will the entire (A) get a re-work?(meaning new textures possibly shared from the new (C) line)?

Most likely an extension. But either or even both would be great.

The (A) will be a complete renovation from 207th Street, Manhattan to Rockaway Park using new objects and objects from the (C) (D) and (E) Lines.

This will be the full route right? From 207th Street all the way to Roackaway Park?
Did you actually read what he said? If the line is getting a renovation from UPTOWN Inwood-207th to Rock Park is it not obvious?
I would assume there would be a updated Lefferts version also.

Never assume
Would it not be a no brainer to update the Lefferts branch also?(just my point) if the entire (A) will use new and updated objects/textures.

Not necessarily. I don't even know myself and I'm in on the development of the route
Title: Re: NYCT-A Line Update Thread (Rockaways)
Post by: Fox-179 on August 10, 2011, 12:23:55 pm
I'm just saying b\c its like the entire (A) will use new everything 3 versions
To Lefferts
To Far Rockaway
To Rock Pk
3 route files will use exactly the same objects from 207th to Liberty Junction then the Lefferts will use just updated objects for more realism(its an extra 3 stations) it was a safe assumption.

It's like updating the (D) but not the (B) in the Bronx(no-brainer).

I wish you all well on the routes!

You are right Lefferts Branch does hold a special value to joe i would need his permission to touch that.

i wasnt gong to post anything until joe officially approved ,but i have completly updated the entire lefferts bound A with Every timer in the Route , and have implemented automated r160 announcements for every station along the route. Now until joe gets back to me then this is only for my private use but hopefully it will be approved and it will be released along side this route if not sooner.

It doesn't actually curve out.
It is steeper than the other 2 tracks, therefore it reaches the height of the main elevated line in a shorter distance.

This is present on the actual (A) line. Here is an image looking southbound northbound, look at the rightmost track to see
what i'm talking about:

sign was broken nothing else...

Will the (A) just get new objects and textures or will the entire route be reworked?

The route is getting reworked using new objects and textures.

And to be clear, that's the curve just leading to 80/Hudson and the train was most likely a A with a broken sign. With that there should be no more conversation about this. More updates (on topic) will be coming soon.

That's great, but it sounds awkward when the announcements have one background noise while the next one has another one, and therefore sound differently, instead of sounding exactly the same like in real life.

Thanks for letting me in on the update , if its fixed in the real version then i shall fix it on mine . Plus i might get lucky and find a nice T/O or Conductor that will play the announcement. But anyways ill post a 2006 and an updated 2011 version of the announcements.

So, if I am not mistaken, this route will have both an R160 version (with the automated announcements and the 2006 and 2011 versions like Mr Railfan mentioned) and a standard version with conductor-made (non-automated) announcements? And also, it will be the same as what is seen in Mr Railfan's videos (with the cab darkening and TJay's new signals) except it will have the new textures?

Yes i will be implementing the darkening , automated announcements and Tjays new signals [with a few custom made ones] after the new textures have been implemented by jayjay and Blue18 . Basically after they are done, they will send it to me so i can apply all of the signals , etc.  . Im also thinking of adding in a few weather themes like Rain , Fog , overcast sky and maybe snow.

Alright, that sounds good. But one thing I noticed in the videos is that in the train's Operating Screen, there is a route icon corresponding to what route you are driving that train on. Does that change depending on what you set the LED Route displays to?

That invloves putting in some key commands in the actual trainset and using the keys to change the sign.

Classic SMEE('07-'09) with the 32's,38's,40M/S,42's,44/46.

I doubt it. But like 4 Express stated, you don't neccesarily have to use an R44 or R46 for this route.

BTW, since we now have a Rockaway Park version and a Far Rockaway version, will we also have an updated Lefferts Blvd version?

The A to Far Rockaway & Rockaway Park are in skeletal phases.

The A to Lefferts Blvd now has full R160 announcements thanks to myself & Mr Railfan. They will be available when we get to it, please near with us.

As for off topic routes like the D & F will be on their respective posts.
