Title: Issues with OS_ATS1.dll
Post by: Andrew on October 30, 2015, 07:25:28 pm
Hey guys I've been having issues with Oskari's plugin (OS_ATS1.dll). When I download trains the plugin works, so the if the train has rollsigns, lights, etc it works. However it only works for a couple times. Then after awhile the plugin just doesn't work so therefore the rollsigns, etc don't work either. I find myself having to have to constantly download a train with the plugin and copying and pasting it. It starts to work again but then lo and behold it keeps happening like a never ending cycle. Any ideas? I have a windows 10 pc with Nvidia GeForce 950m. I also have webroot secure anywhere as my antivirus.

Thanks guys!

EDIT: Also when the plugin not working happens the rollsigns will just change themselves whenever I move foward, apply brakes, etc.

Hello. I had the exact same problem. There is a certain file you need to have in your game directory. I will get that to you as soon as possible. :)

Here is the plugin you need to add into your game directory:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5txlfzd1b8r3eq7/AtsPluginProxy.dll?dl=0
Just put in in the folder you first open, should have Data and UserData folders. Put it in there. I am always glad to help!   ;D

For some it works, for others it doesn't. Almost everyone I've talked to has had issues with it with Windows 10 (why I didn't upgrade).

Any other ideas? I already had the ATS proxy dll file in my main openbve folder. I replaced it just in case and I'm still having the same problem.
Thanks,
Andrew

I'm sorry, but I have never experienced this problem. Maybe it is the version of bve? If not, sorry but I tried.

Whenever the issue happens, close openBVE and search for "Event Viewer." Expand "Custom Views," click on Administrative Events and see if they're any openBVE related items in the log. Screenshot them and post it here

So what should I do YankeesPwnMets? Could there be a compatibility error with the OS_Ats1.dll file?

I just fixed it. I ran a sfc scan in the command prompt. Run "As Administrator" and type in sfc/scannow and press enter. You'll have to restart the pc. It detects error in registry, dll, etc. It works now!
Thanks everybody!

That's what it has to be, because it works fine for me.

Well after I fixed it I restarted my computer...it's not working again. I tried doing what I did before to fix it, no dice. Everytime I restart my pc os_ats1.dll stops working.

I have used both that one and the bvestation one, they don't work. I'm going to disable my firewall and see if that does anything.

Turning of the firewall/antivirus didn't do anything. I know it works. It's just that when I redownload the OS_Ats1.dll from a train it works only until I restart the computer. After that it stops working again...

I apologize for the delayed reply. Work keeps me busy. I haven't had an off day other than weekends since July 6 and as a result my visits to the forum have been gradually decreasing.

As for your error, 0xC0000005 tells me that the program is trying to access a restricted part of your computer's memory. Just for reference, how many RAM do you have? Also, you should try to download memtest86 to check for errors with your memory

I have 16gb of ram. I'll run that program when I get home too. Thanks man!

I did what you said. There were no errors detected. Also I ran openbve and still it's happening...What should I do next?
Thanks guys!

The error doesn't make much sense to me because a common source of an access violation error is an infinite recursive call. However, if that were the case, then the error would show up on everybody's computers, not just yours.

I feel like there has to be some other part of the puzzle here. Can you go back to Event Viewer and check if there are any other openBVE related faults?

OS_ATS1.DLL is the old windows plugin that often does "false positive" with antivirus.
Do make sure your antivirus is not putting OS_ATS1.DLL in quarantine.

I actually just realized the issue. If I use my NVidia gtx 950m card the error comes up. However if I use the integrated graphics the error goes away... I just tested this out for my self and I know 100% that this is the issue, because I just turned it on and back off again. So I'm going to change some settings around in the NVidia control panel and see what happens... hopefully I'm not stuck using the integrated graphics card becuase I go from 60-20fps on high deatiled routes...

After changing some settings on the nvidia graphics card I couldn't fix anything. So if I want to run the trains properly I have to use intel graphics. For some reason the NVidia graphics card interferes with the OS_ATS1.dll file...don't know how to fix that. Unless anyone has ideas???

Alright so I fixed that issue. What I did was uninstalled every single OS_ATS1.dll file on the pc. Then I reinstalled them. That worked!
