NYCTA Projects / Re: Status of the (D) and (F) Routes.
« on: June 25, 2012, 09:45:28 pm »
Yea trains still fly in 179th at least 37-40 MPH unless timers or a timer was added from two weeks ago.

77
Ok thats understandable thanks.

Amazing work guys!
I have a few questions concerning sounds:
Will the train squeak realistically when they are going a certain speed?(preferable when the R-46's sway the most*10-35mph*)
Regarding when the R-46's hit 35MPH+ they are being pushed and they start to vibrate a lot will that come into play?

Honestly use your brains a bit more think its night time some streets can be darker than other. And lets be real here its f'kin NYC theres always weird/odd stuff around somewhere before the bus got on the bridge it was dragging the mattress(supposedly). The mattress could had been right in the vicinity of a garbage space and the mattress would had been side swiped and dragged/caught under the bus whether it was in the front or the back.

DJ is right the R-10 thru R-68A series have the same trucks there may have been modifications for smoother rides in the past decade or so but very little differences. The R-46 trucks or SMEE trucks on the R-16 is fine but for more realism they can use some weathering textures so the blue springs coils are not noticeable: as an SMS

Would it be possible to have scrolling rollsigns in action instead of them displaying/disappearing?

General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: OpenBVE Scores
« on: March 11, 2012, 02:10:47 pm »
Hey bro..you know, some routes have really wierd scores. For example, I was driving the (F) to 179st local. I always operate according to nyct standards (timers, curves, etc.) I still get a 13% rating compared to if I drive a Lefferts blvd bound (A) according to nyct standards. I would get something like a 80%. I'm like WTF...
Sometimes in the route you gotta push the train to its limit and haul in stations to be on-time.Sometimes you gotta be slow in places. If you're getting low ratings the schedule may be off or you're just being too late or violating speed zone restrictions.

In NYCT standards theres really no speed limit unless posted such as going or approaching a switch the limit can be 10,15,20 or 25MPH in some cases. It doesn't mean you can't operate below or above thats a recommend limit keep it at at speed limit or no more than 5mph above.

In between stations when theres no timers there may be a sign saying GT or ST 30 that doesn't mean you have to go 30miles.

In reality its pretty much as fast as you can go before a timer, switch or station is upcoming. For example obviously there aren't many 45 mph speed limits around but that doesn't mean trains don't go above that in some spots(not including the tubes)
Trains can reach 60MPH obviously in the tubes but theres no 60mph speed signs and they do usually or at least 60 with a 68/A.(60th St-Tubes only)

The stretch between 170th and Burnside on the (4) in the middle track theres a 35 speed sign but train hit 45 on that stretch because there are no timers and theres a downhill from 170th to Mt Eden.
All routes are different sometimes developers don't code speed limits in routes but the default if 55kph which is about 34-35mph and realize thats entering station speed that will bug you but in between you can go beyond.

Wow superb!!
May I suggest adding the American flag
and a new MTA logo could be the old M or the current logo

I checked it out.
Things that are fine and don't need to be changed or just minor fixes are:
Interior(floors, seats and textures are great but the wall texture can be retaken for higher quality) it looks like a paint(program) texture.
Possibly an actual gate texture for the R-32 which can be taken from an R-62/A,42 or 32.

Things that need to be fixed are:
the doors obviously(texture and they close too fast)
higher quality exterior for the front and side(looks very cartoonish)
new logo
underbody work
sounds and a cab.(very important).

I would rate this BETA as a 5 out of 10
Interior is near perfect except for the wall texture and possibly ads also rollsign that can be a bit more realistic.
Everything else is very low quality(exterior) theres no cab and no sounds.

There are buffs aka railfanners who purposely fan at night to avoid the attention in the day time and because more interesting things are happening such as car moves, work trains and stuff.

But if you're going out for announcements I'm sure 9/10 those few railfanners who go out at night will have them recorded and on youtube.

Also on a school night is it really worth recording or photographing a TRAIN than being home already in bed or near to being in bed safe and knowing that there is SCHOOL the next day.

Quite rare G.O
(Q) to Queensbridge
(D) To Whitehall via 4th Av/West End LCL N/B

I wouldn't go out at night just for a train recording for announcements because I'm sure people will probably already have them most likely. It's rare but not extremely rare.

Haha very nice. The front can use some work though and the interior to possible photo realistic walls. And that T/O looks like a guy I went to HS with.

More underbody work would be nice and perhaps using some good trucks.
