Title: Radio Sounds
Post by: HijauKuda on August 26, 2012, 12:53:30 pm
Does anyone have any interesting railway radio sounds?
I need engineer, dispatcher, or detector recordings to edit/use in a route (or train).

There might be some FCC Regulations that prohibit putting up the recorded radio sounds into routes, which is why i haven't put any in the routes im working on. The one on the lef shut was specially recorded. Again i would have to look into the subject when i have more time to confirm whether there are any regulations.

The FCC would probably have a problem if someone passed gas in public and the noise was too loud.
In any case, no plan to publish, for personal use only, added interest/realism to favorite routes and trains.

If you have a smart phone go to the app store and look for scanner radio then download the program and it has everything.

Well guys, i, myself am looking for a scanner in order to listen to the local freight that comes by my area. As far as the radio goes, this might help for a few people: http://railroadradio.net/ (http://railroadradio.net/)  This is live radio streams from certain areas :)

@r160bve
I should be able to record what's needed from that site,
and I don't have to burn up several tanks of gas chasing trains with a scanner.
Thanks.

I checked the app store using the term "radio scanner" on my iPad (so iPhones and iPads are covered in this search) and the only scanners that came up were for police radio scanners
