General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: How to download OpenBVE (Windows users)
« on: June 27, 2015, 12:59:20 am »
If anyone needs the url to download openBVE, here it is:

http://openbve.shadow93.info

I'm going to see if it works properly with Windows 10, and attempt to optimize it to allow multi-threading

If you guys can make a full list of compatible openBVE routes and trains that work in Hmmsim, please do. Going to add a wiki article.

Even though i was not a fan of his political views, he had all my respect, and will surely be missed. It was because of him i was inspired to become an openBVE content developer.

I was thinking of adding a Wiki page about him in his honor.

Just some update progress...

No more dark bulkhead syndrome at the wrong ends:

Rebuilt the interior ceiling for accuracy reasons. Also note some changed advertisements:

Some sounds were changed to match that of R-16 6387 when it ran that day (i attended the trip, it was well worth the $50).

Mudwrestle will take care of the olive drab NYTM R16, and the pre-1975 version which is the version before the R16's got the R44 door motors (notable due to sloping door panels, before that, it didn't have those sloping door panels).

An update is coming soon that hopefully makes the R16 more FPS friendly! When? I dunno. Also a few more cosmetic updates underway.

As you may have noticed, Mudwrestle is aiding me in finishing the IRT SMEE fleet. Hats off to him for his hard work and effort!

Hi guys, with permission from DJhammers, I'm currently working on the Olive Drab R16, from the train of many metals.

To make progress move faster, i would extremely appreciate any and all pictures of it. All credit with be given to all of those who contribute. Thanx

And of course Thank you again, to DJhammers for giving me permission.

(*****If you see any textures used that look like they were taken from your photos, please Note no textures are final as of this moment, and I am only using them as a template, and WILL NOT USE them, WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION!!!*****)

No need for permission to edit my train - I released the R16 with open development in mind so you are always free to make as many derivatives as you please!

I'll send you my texture pack as I was originally gonna release an NYTM scheme package on a future update of the R16 just as soon as I get my internet connection working again. They will be full sized photos I shot.

I will also send you the interior textures from an earlier beta when the R16 had the NYTM blue interior

Once you're done, I'll add you to the credits for the derivative, and add it to the R16 package. I'm waiting on mudwrestle to work on new seats

Content Development / Re: Blender B3D/CSV/ANIMATED Plugin

The .animated file is a hand-coded file which has the codes for animations and object placements. The objects themselves are typically .b3d or .csv or .x files.

This is pretty much a modified variant of openBVE which is large address aware enabled. Basically, it allows openBVE and the developer tools to be able to use more than 2GB of installed RAM for systems that have more than 2GB of RAM.

Additionally, i've been hard at work trying to make openBVE easier to set up and use on Mac OS X systems. I will later on create a simple installer for the Windows version, as for now, it can be downloaded as a 7zip file. I'll later upload a variant with the installers for the dependencies for the Windows version.

As for linux, it's going to take a while as i would need to know which flavor of linux is used more commonly for openBVE.

Windows:

OS X builds:
