Title: Question on Route Building
Post by: BeeRyDavis on November 21, 2011, 06:41:41 pm
I want to try and build a route for bve but I have a few problems. I have Route Builder and I've seen on the forums that it's not very useful. I want to code if possible and wanted to know if there was something I need to download in order to code a route.

You don't need to download anything. Just launch Notepad, which is pre-installed on your PC.

Do you have openBVE installed in your computer along with all of its dependencies?

Did you place both Route Viewer and Object Viewer in your openBVE folder?

Could you explain this "difficulty" that you're having in more detail? Also, try posting some screenshots of your folder setup - that would be very helpful.

I can't post a photo but a window keeps popping up saying either route viewer or object viewer has stopped working.

Does Object Viewer/Route Viewer stop working when you launch the program or when you load an object/route?

Hmm, sorry, but it looks like I can't help you from here. I have no idea what the problem is.

Hopefully someone in BVEStation will be able to help you better than I can. If worse comes to worse and you still can't find the solution, you should post your problem in openBVE's forum (http://openbve.freeforums.org/technical-support-and-bugs-f13.html (http://openbve.freeforums.org/technical-support-and-bugs-f13.html)), right under "Technical Support and Bugs" section. I think you'll have a better chance of finding the solution there.

You're welcome.  :)
If you don't mind could you tell me what was the one thing you missed? I haven't heard of this problem before.

I forgot to put the Tao.OpenAl.dll in the openbve folder. When I did that it started working.
