That post, while quite old, is still accurate. Any updates on any of the routes in question will be posted in their respective threads in this section of the forum.

Also, the R160 leads to a dead link as well.

You know, I don't particularly recall giving you permission to use those templates for the R110Bs. No, I'm not going to ask you to take them down because I'm not in the mood for kid stuff and I don't feel like being the copyright police. Just, next time, please ask.

Adding on to this, the R46s have the Eastern Division bullets on the front rollsigns because all of the R4X cars uses (or has used) the same rollsigns. Sometime in the past, probably when the bullets were changed in the 70s/80s, the TA ordered the same rollsigns, regardless of whether the train could run on a particular line.

BVEStation Network News / Re: OpenBVE Developer michelle leaves
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:24:01 am »
Well, that's not all that surprising to me. BVE2/4 could only be used for computers with Windows XP or lower (unless you modify your computer). Most people nowadays have at least Vista PCs or are using Macs. Then BVE5 was a non-starter for the community because it uses a completely different coding style than previous versions/openBVE. It is unfortunate in a way that he disappeared before the new version was completed but I really don't see BVE5 taking off like openBVE did in his previous absence.

You mean the one from Trevor Day? It should all be included in a zip folder in the link below.

« on: May 07, 2012, 08:08:45 pm »
While that is unfortunate, I don't foresee any return to BVE2/4 route/train development. The amount of users with Windows XP is dwindling quite rapidly and BVE2/4 aren't compatible with anything over XP unless you modify your computer.

Transit / Bombardier Transportation Wins Bid for R179 Contract
« on: March 26, 2012, 06:46:26 pm »
Since this hasn't been reported here yet, I figured I'd change that.

After many delays and postponements, the R179 order finally has a builder. Pending approval from the MTA Board, which should be given by some time this week, Bombardier will be the sole builder of the R179 consists. The 10-car test set is expected to be delivered by late 2014. Delivery of the rest of the cars should begin in early to mid-2015 and wrap up by late 2016. Mind you, this is all tentative, so don't be surprised if things don't follow the schedule to the letter.

As has been stated previously, the R179 will completely replace the remaining R32s and R42s. Don't read that as a guarantee of which lines will receive the new cars because nobody knows that yet.

More details will be posted when they come up. Stand by.

Awesome work JayJay85 and Tram man. There's just one problem JayJay. The Broadway line in lower Manhattan between Canal St and DeKalb Av is absent on your map.

General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: BVE route randomizer effects on routes
« on: March 20, 2012, 04:15:46 pm »
It ain't called the BVE Route Randomizer for nothing. Depending on how high the percentage of the chance of track switching, the program will pick a random switch and use it. It will then stay on that track until the end of the route.

It's a converted R142A set, which has been reclassified as an R188.

Transit / Re: R160 on the B line
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:08:06 pm »
If the idea is to keep the R68(A)s (and the R62(A)s since they're around the same age) until the mid 2020s at the earliest, wouldn't it make more sense to have these trains look and feel similar to the newer R142s and up? One of the major qualms with the older fleet is its lack of NTT amenities (clear announcements and displays, ADA requirements) and while that may not seem like a big issue now given the varied (though increasingly limited) types of trains on the rails right now, it will become one as the older fleet is eventually fazed out. No one will want to deal with what will be the oldest trains in service, especially if they're relegated to one or two lines only.

No there isn't.

Eye candy+patience=benefit.

Actually there is. We can't play a BVE route that hasn't been created yet. Please note that this isn't a dig at any developer or anything. It's just an observation.

Nice catch. The other five will be there soon. And to those wondering, no, they will not be in service any time soon.
