JayJay85 was kind enough to release a beta-stage preview version of the D line for us!
Here is the download link.
http://www.bvestation.com/downloadinfo.php?id=64 (http://www.bvestation.com/downloadinfo.php?id=64)
Thank You & Enjoy!
-
Great route Jayjay! In the nighttime version, you should make the D run local. I'll be sure to have the R68 in a few days
-
The reason why the object folder "LisaRaye" is large is because other lines will be using it A, B, Q, H and W lines.
-
Thanks a lot Jay. I just sent my 68 stuff to Mr.Railfan and Pacific should be receiving it shortly, so expect a spankin 68 soon!
-
My man JayJay, two words for this route. True buckness lol. Good job JayJay and Joe.
-
Spectacular job JJ! I'll have a video up soon ;)
-
Holy Crap. I havent lived in Brooklyn in 9 years. I miss taking this line everyday going to work. This route brought back memories. Great job and thanks for the release.
-
This is so worth the 30 minute download ;D

Internet Speed is always a factor. Some browsers affect it aswell

I am willing to implement TJay's signals in this when I get back to NYC I can cover 205th to Grand St.
-
My Dell can't handle this route :P Oh well... time to install my spare nVidia GT 430 in it. However, I took a run with this using my laptop and the visuals seem very nice. Tjay's signals in it would be very nice as well.
Another question: Does the Manhattan bound Concourse Express actually run on the local track? There were many switches to the express track and I was wondering why the train didn't use those switches...

I wasn't at home and had to download it from faint wi-fi hotspots.

In reality, the southbound (D) express uses the "diverging" track to the right just south of Bedford Park Blvd, which becomes the express track from Kingsbridge Rd to 145 St.
-
@YankeesPwnMets:
During the AM Rush btwn 6:xx to 8:57 am S/B (D)'s run express when leaving Bedford they go straight instead of diverging to the middle track b\c straight there is a dip that goes under nthe local track and the train will end up on the express track at Kingsbridge(similar configuration to the D/F btwn 47th-50th and 42nd S/B.
All other times they run local S/B in the Bronx. The D makes those exp stops(Fordham,Tremont,145th) skipping 183rd and skipping 5 other stops btwn Tremont and 145th.Its damn slow though.
-
Great Job JayJay but these file sizes are getting too out of control lol
-
I'd suggest converting all the textures to png to save file size.
-
During off hours, some (D)s wrong rail between Bedford and 205, so those tracks are certainly used.
By the way, Jay is it possible to remove that yellow shading from the .csv file of the (D). It's strange seeing the light emitted during the daytime.
-
took 1:54 mins to download & 4 mins to install lol
great route guys, thanks. :)

in real life it goes express on the Express middle track on the concouse. that will be fix later on

the reason why the file size is large is due to the A updated, B, Q, W and H lines will used this folder otherwise this folder would've been smaller

Wonderful route! Very highly detailed and it shows har far wevecome from the previous generations of OpenBVE NYCTA routes!

@Ddatrainman: It's actually "Norwood, Bronx", not "Inwood...". Inwood is in Northern Manhattan.

The reviews on the Brooklyn Bound D Line looks good I am so tempted to download but I am not sure if my P3 550 will be able to handle this route it along cannot handle the new F Line in which I have not yet to operate cause it crashes on my pc . OpenBVE is out of the question for my computer also tried it had to do a hard boot >:( but hopefully in the future I shall get top notch pc designed just for all the BVE Routes
-
After almost a forty-five download through an internet connection in which three other people are using, I was prepared to have a good route.
I got to say that this route is awesome! 8) I was waiting for a full D since like forever!

I took one at the Fort Hamilton Parkway curve on the screenshots section. If someone could move that as a (D) screenshot, would be appreciated!

JayJay u did a good job but when I did the express route i thought i was going to be in the express track (the middle) I if you can do this thanks!

he already said he was goin to fix it later on this is only 2.0 if im not mistaking the version is only a beta look in the pages before it clearly states this

You can upload your screenshots directly to the downloads section without having to have the admins do anything. Just visit the gallery, http://www.bvestation.com/gallery.php (http://www.bvestation.com/gallery.php) and upload your photo there.
Also the page was updated with more info, and is now hosted on BVEStation. (aka safer compared to media fire... another admin obviously didn't follow directions on reuploading files to the server :P )

Whenever I use this route, the images start to lag. I have deleted and re-installed the route, but got the same result. Is there anyway I can fix this problem? I figured out my problem; The R153 I was using caused the lagging, so I used the R68, and it worked fine.....

this looks so good. say does anyone know how to manually install the extracted files to their respective folder. I seem to keep getting and error of files missing. running on mac

This is quite a nice route :).

Make sure you use the installers in the "__MACOSX" folder, not the normal folder for PC's. Install the LisaRaye2.exe and 6thAve.exe into openBVE\Railway\Object, install the D2.exe into openBVE\Railway\Sound, and install the NYCT-D (Version 2.0).exe into openBVE\Railway\Route. So basically just install everything into where the installer defaultly does, and it should work. (You also need the (A) Line and both of the object folders that come with it: 8thAve and LefShut)
-
I just drove a train on that route (specifically, the file NTCT-D2.csv), and I noticed a couple of things that, well, got me taking notes on the things that can be improved.
Graphical Improvements
While the route in general looks great, there are a few cosmetic issues that need to be taken care of. For instance, at the Rockefeller Center station, there are no diagonal bits connecting the wall and horizontal beams (http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/show?4488).
Next, at 103rd Street, there's an F train on the uptown express track.
Announcements
At Fordham Road, there's no announcement of the Bx12 Select Bus Service. I don't know for certain how it's treated in the B division, but it's always announced on the A division stations where the line crosses. This is probably due to the automated announcements, but I think the R160s already announce the M15 where it crosses the lines with R160s running on them.
I would suggest updating either the scenery and marker bitmaps or the announcements to be consistent with the period being depicted. "Franken-forties" running on the B and announcements of the availability of the M train on Sixth Avenue? When is this route set, 2009 or 2011?
Stations
I noticed that at stations where the platform is on the train's left, the doors on the train's right side opened. I'm sure a conductor would get written up for opening the doors on the wrong side once, but doing it ten times (at 205, BPB, KB, Fordham, Tremont, 145th, RockCenter, 9th Av, 62nd St, Bay Pkwy)… well, if it happened on a real D train and it didn't make the news, I would be surprised. There is a fix for this, which I will explain below.
I also noticed that at places where the signal at the departing end of the station is an automatic or other single-headed signal, the signal shows red as the train approaches, but turns green as the train approaches the stopping point. I've seen this bug on many of the other BVE routes depicting the subway system, and there is a fix, which I will also explain.
The fix for these two issues. It all has to do with the Track.sta command. In the file, an example station command is:
.sta 205th Street;5.0130;5.0200;0;1;1;ats;;10;50;D2\205_Dep.wav
Parsing this command, we get the following:
Name: 205th Street
ArrivalTime: 5.0130
DepartureTime: 5.0200
PassAlarm: NO
Doors: RIGHT
ForcedRedSignal: YES
System: ATS
ArrivalSound: <NULL>
StopDuration: 10
PassengerRatio: 50
DepartureSound: D2\205_Dep.wav
TimetableIndex: <NULL>
The values in bold are what need to be fixed. For stations with platforms on the left, change the Doors parameter (the first one bolded in the example above) to −1. For stations with red signals as you approach the stopping point of stations (practically all of them), change the Stop or ForcedRedSignal parameter to 0. Setting this parameter to 0 will not make the program think the train is not supposed to stop at the station. That effect is done by setting the ArrivalTime parameter to P.
However, the effect could be retained (with an appropriate tweak to the StopDuration parameter) at stations where the motorman is required to "punch for line-up" (e.g. 36th Street).
As for the schedule, I think it would be nice to see how late or early you are at other stations along the route. This can be achieved by supplying the ArrivalTime parameter for each station, and leaving the DepartureTime blank. You can get this information using Scott's Transit Playground (http://boerumhillscott.com/transit/TripSchedule.php). While there is no trip leaving 205th Street at 05:02, there is one leaving at 05:04, operating express in Manhattan, local in The Bronx and Brooklyn. Then again, if 5:02 PM is intended, the correct schedule starts at 17:02. Assuming that this is the case, here's the schedule for this trip:
17:02:00 Norwood - 205 St
17:04:00 Bedford Park Blvd
17:07:48 Kingsbridge Rd
17:09:24 Fordham Rd
17:10:54 182 - 183 Sts
17:12:30 Tremont Av
17:14:24 174 - 175 Sts
17:16:30 170 St
17:18:36 167 St
17:21:00 161 St - Yankee Stadium
17:22:30 155 St
17:24:00 145 St
17:27:30 125 St
17:35:30 59 St - Columbus Circle
17:39:06 7 Av
17:41:00 47 - 50 Sts - Rockefeller Ctr
17:42:30 42 St - Bryant Pk
17:44:30 34 St - Herald Sq
17:47:30 W 4 St

18:35:30 Coney Island - Stillwell Av
Signalling
Finally, I start with a bit of a story. After crossing the Manhattan Bridge and passing DeKalb, I approach Pacific Street, and to my surprise, I see the train in front of me, with two signals behind it: the one immediately behind showing red, and the one behind that showing yellow. I hit the brakes, waited for the train to go well ahead of me, then proceeded into the station.
This leads me to pose a question: Is there anyone working on the Track.Section + Track.SigF method of placing signals? Because that would be really nice, especially when you consider repeater signals. What's cool about Track.Section is that you can make it so that there can be two blocks of red behind a train.

Yeah, it only works with OpenBVE, but who still uses older versions of Mackoy's BVE Trainsim? (I suppose that could be a poll question.)

Hey if you dont like the way i recorded the damn announcements then feel free to spend your own time and Record them the way you feel right >:( . Anyways Half the conductors in the Mta either dont say anything when they pull into a station let alone a bus route upstairs . Plus it didnt say BX12SBS on the map of which i was looking at when i was recording the announcements.
-
Mr Railfan is right. The R160 announcements are always considered "correct", yes, but the conductors tend to say the announcements differently sometimes, yet they still mean the same thing. And considering that this route was not made to be run with an R160 exclusively, Mr Railfan's announcements are perfectly fine IMO

Some people say things differently. So this post is kinda offensive :(

SIGNED. I understand the older routes were coded for BVE 2, so block spacing and opening doors on the wrong side could be forgiven in those situations. But the newer routes have less of an excuse. It's a giant pain to suddenly meet the end of another train. It's at the point where before opening up any route for the first time, I look over the code and modify it as quoted. It's only a few minutes of simple coding and before anyone decides to have a hissy fit and says "do it yourself", I do.
And I shouldn't have to, because I'm not a developer. If we can code the massive Stillwell Avenue shed or Smith-Ninth Street, then we can certainly make sure that the doors don't open on the wrong side.
As far as signalling goes, you might be interested in this signal pack. (http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=730.msg7798 (http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=730.msg7798))

I could give two fucks what you or any other person thinks. The complaint department is located on my black ass. If it meant getting good shit in return, then sure, I'd happily drop some dollars.

I never said anything specifically about the (D). I said it was a problem with many routes. I know what a beta is. That has shit to do with this discussion. If I haven't made it clear enough, I'll say it now: I. Dickrides. Nobody.
If there's a problem, I'm expressing it. If there's praise to be given, I'll give it. Don't like it? I've told you where my complaint department was.

o iight pimping but u do know this is about the D and aint no one D**CK Riding

o iight pimping but u do know this is about the D
Sometimes topics drift. It happens on SubChat. It happens on NYCTF. It's normal.
and aint no one D**CK Riding
It looked that way. The developer can defend themselves, you and the other guy made it seem like you were groupies or something.
-
not at all homeboy just people need to stop the bashing about routes if people aint release something ya self ya feel me so aint neva the type
-
not at all homeboy just people need to stop the bashing about routes if people aint release something ya self ya feel me so aint neva the type
The problem is that anything negative, no matter how legitimate it may be is taken as bashing or "hating". There's a difference between inane bashing (like the person who was angry that there wasn't a McDonalds or a Sunoco along a line) and a legitimate complaint (the block distances are off, I keep running up on trains). If you put something out there, you become open for criticism. What's important is how you deal with it: case in point, that's why no one around here likes Michelle because she has problems handling criticism and lashes out at the end user.
I don't want this community to end like like the many others who've decided to take their toys and go home because of some immature conflict.
-
u got that wright but it was mentioned on the first few pages wat need to be fixed and this is not the final product thats what im saying

What R36 posted was Constructive Criticism. Plus, it's better to give Jay a FULL LIST of inaccuracies, so when he does release the next version, it'll be top notch. Keep doing your thing 36, cause you pointed out some things I didn't even get and that's pretty rare ;), and that is what makes a route enjoyable, considering the good and the bad and fixing them.
Now here comes my part:
1. The static trains are nice, but what would make them more visually appealing is if they actually featured A car B cars like IND Valley Stream on the (E) and (Z) extension. Right now, we have a full consist of A car trains. Like what 36 pointed before, more accurate equipment would be nice as well.
2. Something minor, that should or should not be improved: Tjay's el tracks featured on the NYCTpack are more detailed than the el tracks found on the (D). If the adaptation of these tracks were to make the route more frame friendly, then it's all good, but if it wasn't, then it would be nice to have slightly better looking objects in the route. This is merely a cosmetic feature, so I would understand if this was ignored.
3. R36's signalling poses great advantages and gives us a better run. I can't remember how many times I've crashed into a train because the signals aren't coded with two reds instead of the one. MTA sets it up like that, and it would be nice to see this on ALL routes not just the (D).
4. The doors opening/closing on either side is an easy fix. I've did it with mine already. However, what else would be nice is if we had the track accuracy commands. I set it equal to 3.7 so there's sway, but not too much, so it feels like we're running on NYCTA tracks, not smooth Amtrak. The brightness commands would also be an advantage. I've already set it up on the (D), but to other people who are more concerned with 'click and play' they might not enjoy messing in the .csv files.
5. Get rid of .rw. This is purely up to the developers, but .rw files are slower than .csv, and considering that this is a VERY HIGHLY DETAILED route with the majority of people running it on openBVE which renders .csv more easily, routes should be in .csv. Only a small percentage of people run the (D) or any route of its class, on BVE2.
6. I understand that this will be included in the final versions, but most stations are missing station exits. If you need data, I'll be glad to give you approximate locations of exits along CPW and 6th avenue as well as the Bronx. Give me a list, and I'll fill in the rest.
-
The announcements at 7 Av and 47-50 Sts both say "the next stop is 7 Av-53rd St."
-
Alright, first and foremost, let me re-iterate what Bebo said: This is only a BETA. We've discussed using TJay's signalling before with JayJay and he's working on it. Changing the signalling may be easy for us since we have it down packed, but you have to realize that to a lot of developers here, this is a whole new ball park. I was able to use TJay's signals 5 minutes after I read the documentation because I've studied the code before. Point is, you can't expect everyone to know how to use something like that in such a short time span, and every developer codes the way they want to, not everyone may be comfortable with sigF or the .section command. Any heated arguments done after this post will result in a warning
-
JayJay if you like you can add these for the (B)(D).
