Transit / Coming to NYC for Christmas
« on: November 11, 2014, 10:16:01 pm »
Hey guys. There is a chance I may get to visit my sister in NYC for Christmas this year, and I will be very eager to busfan and railfan the equipment you guys have over there. Since I barely track your guys' transit system there anymore, I have a few dumb questions that I would appreciate greatly if they were answered for me:

1. Are there any Orion V buses remaining in service (Diesel or CNG)? If so, which location would one of you guys recommend as the best place to catch one?
2. In which area(s) are your Nova RTS's most prominent? Also are there any "black back" RTS's remaining in service? If so, where would I be able to catch one?
3. How many R62A's remain active on the (7) Line that have not yet been replaced by R188's? And that being said, where did the replaced R62A's go? Are there any cars of the R62/A family possible to be found on unusual routes (i.e. (2), (4), (5), (6))?
4. Which bus route(s) would I be able to find a Proterra electric bus on (if they are even in service/will be in service come December)?
5. I know the R32 cars are still prominent on the (C) Line, but are the R42 cars still a regular sight on the (J)/(Z) line, or have they all been withdrawn from service now?
6. Any Christmas specials (bus or subway) that I should be aware of? I know there's the historical buses on the M42 but does it go beyond that?

Thanks!

Thanks for posting those! This definitely looks like it will more or less be a rehash of Vol.3 in terms of graphics and physics based on the screenshots. The system requirements sure better be the same as all their previous games that made use of this game engine. Overall I'm getting more and more curious to see how this is going to play out, with each update.

Edit: It looks like they are only using 6 cars, isn't the 7 an 11 car line?

Yes it is but this is also not the final product yet..

Now, if someone makes a personal attack towards another user on the forums, on a public thread for that matter, can we please use the "Report to Moderator" button rather than replying and therefore "crashing" the thread with unnecessary arguments? It would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

Now that the OP's question appears to have been answered, it may be a good idea for an admin to lock this topic, if it's okay for me to request. Thanks.

Hi,
I was actually wondering if in real life does the engineer swap ends and run a return run..

This is not in openbve..  I know this is a one way run in openbve..

I am looking for anyone that actually rides the subway and post the running speed.

Thanks
Ed

Yes they do. Depending on the line, most times they continue for a short distance beyond the last stop to what is known as a layup, where they switch ends in a safe place without disrupting train traffic. Then they drive the line in the other direction.

To avoid further confusion by this thread being created in the wrong section of this forum, can an admin please move this thread to the Transit discussion section? Thanks.

The product page for WOS4 has been launched in the Aerosoft Shop. A projected release date of 23 October 2014 has also been announced.

I would like to make it apparent that the release date is only a projection and is not official yet. It is subject to postpone at any time (and it probably will be).

The graphics look stellar! Thanks for sharing (and to whoever shared it to the UTMS Facebook group making it appear on my news feed, reminding me of a game I almost completely forgot about). This is something I look forward to indeed.

Simply click "Show Issues" and it will show you all the errors that have occurred while attempting to load the program up. Usually the issues tend to be fairly minor, but sometimes they can be significant, but it's usually difficult to tell unless you take a deep look into it.

If I recall correctly, the current J/Z line that is available for download is in a rather early stage at present, hence the low detail at the moment. But wait for the full version to be released and that version, if installed accordingly, should be fully detailed.
