General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: OpenBVE Installation Standard
« on: August 20, 2017, 01:02:35 pm »

1) The folder should be like that: OpenBVE > UserData > LegacyContent > Railway > Object > (8th Ave for example)
                                                                                                                                   > Route > (NYCT - A for example)
                                                                                                                                   > Sound > (8 ave for example)

                                                                                                                    > Train > (R46 2014 for example)

RouteViewer shows: OpenBVE > UserData > LegacyContent  > Railway  shows only route. I had your example above under  OpenBVE > Railway. I copied those dirs to where you said they should be and then copied train there. Then I started getting somewhere.

So my dir structure is definitely messed up. Hence my original post about authors ensuring the correct location when installing things.

Thanks for the help.

Mike

Thank you for your help. I installed 1.5.1.5 and nothing shows up. Prior to the installation I at least I could see packages. Now nothing. What is different about 1.5.1.5? Again thanks for your help.  I bookmarked the document about where to put things.

General BVE/OpenBVE / OpenBVE Installation Standard
« on: August 12, 2017, 04:40:11 pm »
In the past I have had problems installing and using OpenBVE downloads. Either things got loaded in wrong directories or other issues. I'd like to see downloads check to be sure that the install is in the correct directory. I'd like to see some kind of standard enforced to be sure I am not doing the install incorrectly. Is there such a standard now? Do some downloads enforce being in the correct directory? It sure would help new users such as myself.

Thank you.

Most likely your going to have to use Google translate to understand BVE 5. Also, the program was not made in English and BVE 5 is not compatible with OpenBVE.

Ah, finally an answer. Thank you very much. I will delete it. I thought it was a newer version of OpenBVE.

Thanks very much.

Sorry, dumb question. Could not find answer in file docs. Where are the files installed?

Thanks.

When I inquired about BVE 5, I received the above message. However the site is not in English.  (Refer to http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=2613.0

Does anyone know if the program in English? Can I just overlay the current files? Instructions are not in English so it is kind of hard for me to understand.

Thanks.

F:\OpenBVE\Railway
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Object
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Route
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Sound

is the correct folder configuration, I'm not sure what the Legacy content is.

Thank you very much. I shall adjust the folders and enjoy the great program.

This video refers to a BVE 5 at the end of the video. Has that been released yet or is it a work in progress? If still being worked on, is there an approximate release date?

Thanks.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Folder Issues
« on: October 16, 2014, 02:57:08 pm »
Due to the lack of good instructions in some packages, I have ended up with

F:\OpenBVE\UserData\LegacyContent\Railway
F:\OpenBVE\UserData\LegacyContent\Railway\Object
F:\OpenBVE\UserData\LegacyContent\Railway\Route
F:\OpenBVE\UserData\LegacyContent\Railway\Sound

and

F:\OpenBVE\Railway
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Object
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Route
F:\OpenBVE\Railway\Sound

Which is the correct folder configuration?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

 :-\

It would be nice if there was some English notation in with the Brazilian language so I could know what I am downloading and where the download link is. I am interested but cannot navigate the site.
