The R16 for OpenBVE has been Released!

The R16, another long awaited train, has been released!
Note that the High Quality version is extremely graphics intensive, if you experience lag, use the LQ (Low Quality) version of the train also included in the package.

Wonderful Train. Graphics are amazing... I ran both trains on the H Shuttle... Just a few tweeks needed.

1. The Brake Sounds are heavily squeaky..
2. No Straight Pipe Indication ( Black Needle needs to be modified to Brake Application.
3. No Speedometer.

Other than those things the train ran very smoothly and each brake application was smooth and acceleration is perfect..

I believe some of the older SMEE cars and beyond didn't have speedometers I think from the R-30 car class and beyond the subway cars didnt have speedometers but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

speedometers became standard i believe after the r44's, and all other cars to be GOH'd for the 2000's, the speedometers were added. I'm not 100% though

The R16's were equipped with cast iron brakes, which explains the squeaking upon braking. There is a film which has footage of R16's in action and they sure had a loud squeaking when they braked.

Only the subway cars that were overhauled were equipped with speedometers (anything before the R26 was not overhauled, therefore not equipped with a speedometer)

You can activate the speedometer by pressing control + v twice.
To view FPS, press control + x
