This train has the third rail gap feature implemented. Whenever it crosses a gap, the interior lights will blink, like the real-life one (as long as the route has that coded in).

This  train may or may not have headlights, which the visibility of the beams will vary depending on the brightness settings on the route.

I still need to give the interior some final touches (aka more photorealistic interior textures), and add the poles and such, and the MTA Silver/Blue version should be done in a few weeks (and the Olive scheme if we find a good side view pic)

After that, i will work on the interior for the redbird version, as well as the work car version.

Anything else, Mr. Railfan and Ddatrainman will announce. I am just in charge for the interiors.

Just a few peeks at the interior, around 50% complete (the ends of the seats will have a replacement texture for the proper color):

Damn, nice to have you on the project.

This might be able to help

Anyways back to being serious, Im having a real fix in trying to find a side texture for the olive version for months. What I could do is edit the original redbird side i did in photoshop and make it olive green?

would you guys want me to try that?

Edit Attempting, this isnt finalhas to be redone....

this would've been good

That's not bad, it just needs to be a darker shade of green, and then it can be easily worked on from there.

For added realism, part of the .b3d file is being redesigned so that the storm door is recessed from the ends like the real life counterpart.

Progress so far:

This train will have a curved roof, as will my R16. It is slowly being worked on.

Model is now proper BMT/IND width.

Pantograph gates are being replaced with photorealistic ones. Curved roof is pending.

She's taking shape. one texture at a time...

(note, it is still being worked on, the blue-ish parts are being replaced with the photorealistic ones)

Also has anti-climbers. still in the works.

Looks great, but it could use better seats though since those are very outdated. The R30's had pretty much the same seats as the R32 (And all other cars that had those seats) except they were that red-ish color.

Should i get the seats curved? not sure if that would penalize performance on some systems.

The anticlimbers thankfully doesn't use that much polygons

Ditto.

I don't believe curved seats should affect the performance, Mudwrestle's R32 seats are curved, maybe you could use those as a base for the R30 seats. But it would be better if you just used photo textures from the transit museum

I'll probably wait till Mudwrestle gets online, i already have the new seat textures, they're just not applied yet.

(i also happen to have taken over 450+ photos for textures...)

Just a minor update...

Replaced the old seats with curved seats. Still a bunch of textures to convert so that they are the proper R30 seat textures.

This train is still being worked on slowly.

Still in the process of adding curved seats, and then to make the ceiling texture.

Updates/Pictures are looking good! Can't wait to see the train in one piece. Although there aren't as much classic routes to run with this train besides the 1969 Franklin shuttle. But it is, what it is. Keep working hard there :D
