Looking good Railfan! You should look into replacing those benches, trash cans, and subway maps on the platforms with the newer objects. Other than that, can't wait.

I'm talking about the FIND ads. You have BVEStation ads for it, but maybe you can throw in some (MTA) ones.

Also is it possible to have that smooth transition between different FIND ads?

Looks nice Mud. Is there a way to make it show advertisements? You got any plans for that?

Content Development / Simulating Weather Conditions
« on: February 11, 2013, 08:00:39 pm »
Is there a cheap, but effective way in simulating weather conditions (ie. rain, snow, ect.) without physically putting "frozen rain" (as in the X City South route) or "acid rain" (as in the G route)?

I know that the background image can be changed, but replacing the .background image to an image of your choosing, which is relatively simple.

I also know that there's a fog command. Could someone explain how this works?

Any other methods?

More bugs that I found:

- After Canal street moving towards the Bridge where that abandoned tunnel from Nassau merges onto the Broadway, you can see the sky through the floor. Not sure if this is apparent on all of the routes, but I saw it on the (W).

- (N) EXP on West End, at 62nd, it plays the local announcement vs the Bay Parkway announcement.

- (M) should stop at 8 Car.

Other than that, solid work!

Content Development / Adopting the Track Sound Standard
« on: January 05, 2013, 12:48:05 pm »
One of the main things that I have not seen progress in the newer routes is the adoption of the Track Sound Standard. Especially on the newly released BMT division routes, the sections that are elevated should utilize the elevated track run sounds and the open cut sections should utilize the open cut run sounds. The sounds are all there on the respective trains, so why not utilize them?

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the tip Fan Railer! Was wondering the same thing.

By the way, incase the instructions weren't clear enough this is how the ORIGINAL train.dat section looked like BEFORE the changes on the R46:

#CAB
1000           ; X
2438.4        ; Y
-812            ; Z

This is how it should look like AFTER: (in this case its the addition of a line)

#CAB
1000           ; X
2438.4         ; Y
-812           ; Z
1               ; Secondary Car Index

Please be patient, the developers are working on the route when they have time. They dont spend every second and everyday of their lives on BVE and im sure you dont either. We all have our lives to live so please bare with us, if not, then move on.

Brah, You didn't even answer his question.

@Nicholas, yes it is safe to say that there will eventually be a SB (N). As a matter of fact, there's an (N) to 59th street which starts from 57th, packaged in with the recent (Q). Have fun!

Loving the train, but is there a way to disable the handrail animation? I think that's the cause of my poor framerates. I can hit 25 with the 46, but with the 16, its a consistent 15.

Other than that, amazing piece of work!

Sounds great! This will be the most detailed and most sophisticated route ever released when all of these updates are added.

By the way, I noticed some discrepancies in the curves leading to the 3 track island stations on the West End El. The curves are way too tight. The curves should be more smooth because in real life, trains would have to slow down to 15 mph in those sections, which isn't realistic.

Btw, any info. on improvements regarding background scenery?

I understand that, but the signs scroll on their own. No button stops or starts them. The signs move with the movement of throttle and brake positions. Am I missing a file or is this part of the beta testing?

I got the same problem. The reason is the ATS activation, cause the signs don't start scrolling until the ATS turns on, and then when it does, you can't stop it from scrolling.

Does anybody have a fix? Or at least a FULL LIST of the necessary files required to achieve this scrolling effect. Cause I modified the train.dat file and it might have something to do with it not working.

You're killing it! Keep at it!

This looks amazing!

My fault if this has been asked before, but will there be a low poly version? My definition of low poly is just subbing the animated wheels with static ones.

To me, they seem to be not long enough. I think they should extend just a tiny bit further down, just take a look at the photo that Orion V CNG posted.

Nope, he got it on the mark.

It looks amazing! I absolutely love it!  ;D

Before you release it though, you should do something about the window frames and the size of the door windows, and also deal with those black outlines of the windows and handrails.

What's wrong with the size of the door windows? He got it perfect.

Great job and I can't wait for its release!
