Video: OpenBVE Hempstead Branch Minor Updates (Hempstead to Garden City)
« Reply #15 on: January 29, 2015, 07:04:36 pm »
A couple of minor updates included in the video below:

Description (edited slightly):
If you have not yet seen the development first video for the Hempstead Branch, look at the previous posts on this topic. There have been multiple updates since this video was released (yesterday). The route still has little detail and needs a lot of work, but I figured I would share what is done so far. You will notice the announcements are low quality (they came from a YouTube video), and they don't say a name for the current or next station. Once I find announcements that are actually from the Hempstead Branch, the current announcements will be updated. In the meantime, enjoy the video, and for more updates, or if you have questions about the route post below or PM me. The AI was operating for me in this video. Thanks for watching!

Just a quick update on development: There is a skeleton and a few objects between Hempstead and Jamaica (as seen in the videos between Hempstead and Hollis). I have not yet completely formatted the tracks for the Jamaica area, as they are arranged in a very complex way. I'm not sure I'm going to develop the full route to Atlantic Terminal, I think it's just going to be a shuttle from Hempstead to Jamaica. I also have a skeleton from Jamaica to Penn Station, which I'm not sure will be fully developed. I'm thinking about doing something Metro North related in the future (possibly the New Canaan branch if nobody else is doing it). I will continue to give updates on development as it progresses.

Some people have released their developments in stages in the past. You seem to be getting the hang of route building. I definitely wanna see where you take this project. A metro north route would be nice to have as well. Like always, we are here to help

Thanks a lot! I'm not sure what the final product is going to look like, but I'll continue to give updates.

Thanks. I didn't make too many objects, just the images to use as textures within reused object files.

Hello all- I just wanted to give a couple development updates. First- I have the route developed with minor detail from Hempstead to Jamaica. There are still a few things going on with objects not being properly formatted. Frankly, I don't see myself as being able to work on this route too much over the next few months, so I'm thinking about releasing a BETA of the route sometime in the near future, most likely a shuttle from Hempstead to Bellerose or Hollis. In the meantime, I'm trying to make the route seem slightly more realistic, but it will not have much detail. I am also waiting for a reply from a developer to confirm that I can use a couple of their objects. If I can't get in touch with them, then I will replace those with other objects. Stay tuned, as I'll be posting updates on this in the coming days and weeks!

There are a couple of object packs that are available in the Downloads section.  You may find the NYCT Object Pack by TJay to be useful, just be sure to mention him in your credits.  If you do manage to get this out, maybe I'll continue working on my Atlantic Ave Branch, and simply extend it through what you made  ::)

Thanks for the info. I already have the pack so I'll definitely look through it.

The next video is below. Please read what I have below the video, and the YouTube description.

I have decided to make a shuttle route from Hempstead to Bellerose which I will release soon, and it will look somewhat like this. It will have little detail, misplaced objects, etc. For more information, please read the video description.

So here's what I think is going to happen: Sometime in the next couple of days, I will probably release a shuttle from Hempstead to Bellerose similar to the one in the video above. It will not be very detailed, and have a few inaccuracies. It's just something that I want to put out there because I can :). Right now, I'm working on making sure I won't be violating copyrights, seeing who made which objects, etc. I don't want to cause any unnecessary trouble. I'll give more updates as there are major developments with the release of the route.
